Newer style AC compressor on a 91?

My 91 AC compressor went out so I bought a newer (97 i think) off of prime. I installed it, but noticed that the AC pulley does not line up with the crank(too far in). Would the 97+ AC bracket fix this problem? Did some searching but did not find anything useful.

I've installed a R134a version on my 91, changed the pulley anyway, was a perfect fit.
