new nsx 2008

Jan issue of Road and Track also mentions a possible NSX in the 07/08 timeframe, but they are expecting a 2+2 coupe with a hybrid/V6 with a steel body. They also mentioned that the S2000 will probably be axed by 06 due to poor sales.

It's also being thrown around that when the new Civic SI comes out (next yet I believe) That the RSX will be dropped. The new SI will be a coupe instead of the rollerskate that it is now.

4 years? Too long for me.
V6? Nothing's wrong with that. They can do anything they want with the V6 and make it a monster if they so desire.
I just don't believe that Honda will make a all new NSX.
I wish they would but I don't think so.

Is this the magazine you're talking about?

Yep thats it.

Sorry for the late update guys, caught the flu and no access to the net

:frown:

Here's the pic

I like it! Looks great. Kind of lambo-like. The rear is long. Maybe there us a 5.0 V10 in there :)

I think the HSC is maybe more exotic looking.

Sorry but it says the engine is 3.5 litre V6 NA (turbo and open roof later). And the competition is Porsche Boxter. And it will replace S2000 and NSX together.

I don't believe that. The S2000 is a boxster competitor. The NSX a ferrari and porsche competitor. I can't see killing both the S2000 and NSX to compete with the boxster! Time will tell.

If that were the case, it would have to cost less than 50K.

Right. And more than a few Euro mags have chosen the S2K over the Boxster already. So there's really no need to produce a Boxster beater when the S2K already does that.

Did anyone see the President of Honda's comments in a recent Wall Street Journal? That should provide quite a bit of relief to NSX owners and enthusiasts.

IMO, this, and the fact that the HSC is kaputt, is the best indicator of where the NSX is going.

"I want Honda to give off the smell of danger—danger that says you simply don't know what we might do next."

The only bad thing is, what the heck kind of odor is "the smell of danger?" I don't know what that means exactly but it doesn't sound positive. For instance, my wife would say this perfectly describes a "Dutch Oven." Now that's dangerous.

Okay, one of the following is true:

1) That's a carefully-photochopped Gallardo
2) Honda has hired the guy who designed the Gallardo
3) Honda is going to be sued by Lamborghini

Here is a post from a guy on VTEC.net. I have no idea who he is.

"I live in Greer, South Carolina and Michelin is currently testing tires for a 2007 Acura supercar.

I know this because a friend's customer is on the inside of this and is the same guy that laid hands on a Pilot in 2001, and helped design the truck tire late last year.

Now was this gentleman willing to say that this car was called an NSX? No.

Did he say that it was a high priced sports car? No.

When asked whether or not it was on the same lines as an RSX he replied, "Absolutely not."

Be patient, it's a done deal... not a concept, not an idea... it's a PRODUCTION MODEL. "

So we know the NSX has a history of tires designed specifically for the NSX. What about the S2000? Either way, it is a good sign that Honda is serious about the performance and driving feel/experience of this supposed new supercar. Problem is it sounds like a car that will cost $100K. Not that I'm totally against that, but it just means it will take me another 5+ years before I can afford a used one

Hey guys! I still say there will be two cars built to replace the NSX. One will be a Vette killer at about $60k and the other will be a Ferarri killer at about $120k.

i don't follow.... wouldn't a vette killer also be a ferrari killer since the vette and ferrari have similar stats?... unless of course you were talking about an enzo.
