This makes sense in San Francisco with the city's impossible parking problem.

If you do this in L.A. you'd get gunned down on a drive by shooting: cop cruises down the street and the neighbors open fire.

I could see the SFPD using that as a street enforcement vehicle but the CHP (California Highway Patrol for you non CA residents)? That's just dumb, IMO.

Look closely and you'll see that the Mini featured here is the base version (115bhp) and not even the supercharged S. That car's gonna have trouble catching up and flagging down anything quicker than a moped.

Good for publicity for the Mini dealership, I suppose.

This is teh Cooper model (and not the CooperS). BTW in Europe it is not the base model since we have the "ONE" model that is below the "Cooper" with about 90ps. Does it exist also there?

We only have two Mini versions available in the US.

The Cooper is 115bhp available with a 5 speed manual or a CVT. The Cooper S is 163 (?)bhp available only with a 6 speed manual. I'm not sure how BHP translates to PS but I think you have access to one cheaper model than we do.
