New carbon front splitter & full undertray

Yeah Kip, you owe Ken big time ........ Al and I were there when he arrived in the midst of the heavy fog and started moving the stuff from his MDX to the countertop then to the trailer ....... I offered to help ....... even offered him lunch (on your credit card of course LOL!) but he was too polite and declined!

I say the "some way" is real big time way .......

Ken, Thank You very much!!! bringing them to Comptech for me was an incredible convienience and I will find some way to thank you. I will let you know how it goes. Thank You again, Kip

Hey Kip,

Have fun on Sunday and let us know how the wings worked out.

BTW: I've borrowed all kinds of stuff from you at the track over the years, so we are even

Hey Hrant,

Nice seeing you and Al at Comptech today.

Being able to check out (spy) all the go fast goodies that "Fearless Leader" has on his car would have made the trip worthwhile all by itself :)

Really liked the undertray that Al designed and built, it looked similar to the one on the NA2 NSX-R and looked very sturdy and functional as well. I'm still curious to find out how well the NACA ducts work for bringing the air to cool the rotors, other than that it seemed to be pretty much ready for production :D

Sorry that I could not stay longer and grab lunch with you guys, had to be back to the Bay Area before 3:00PM to take care of some things.

I did get to see plenty of NSXs today, your black NSX, Al's NSX, Kip's car, Comptech's green demo car and Brian's NSX, there was also a Silver 02+ NSX on the dyno as well (I wonder whose NSX that was.. NSXTuner? Ben? James?)

On the way back I saw a red NSX with a DreamSportz wing driving northbound on I-5 between Walnut Grove and Stockton, it looked like randomharmony's car (Shane) or maybe it was someone else... So I got to see plenty of NSX's today even if it was a bit foggy earlier in the morning, hehe..

Hey Kip,
What did you guys figure out about a rear wing? When are you going to get a vented hood?

Nice to keep this 'Big Dreams' for the rest of us thread alive!

Hi Dave, have a wing from Japan being built. Getting it from science of speed. It is the one that Chris uses on his car. I have seen it in person and it is very nice. Hood will be coming VERY shortly. Kip

I like it, would it fits 02+?
Can we get a group buy going for this?

What can I say, I want more! As I have told you before, I never drive very far out of my comfort zone as to not end up in a wall and ruin the ultimate reason I am doing this which is fun. That being said I have played with my current setup to some extent and have reached a wall. My back end is always at the point of stepping out and I have played around with allignment, rebound, spring rates, etc. I thought I was just going to live with it until Shad tried that front splitter. It made an immediate difference and I soon realized that aerodynamics was the next step and there was some more speed still there for me to try and get? Call me weak but as you know Andrie it is an addiction. It is also alot of fun trying new things and seing the differences that it can make. I also have a plan for alot more H.P. Email me your phone # and I will talk to you soon. Take care, Kip

Where's data acquisition on your list? Get that and have Andrie, Hank or one of them teach you how to read and use it. Do all that and I'll stop calling you a sandbagger or slacker !!

If you're talking about Chris' old Gruppe M spoiler it is very nice, as I see it nightly in my garage . I'd be interested to hear what you think of this wing after you get it installed and on the track a bit. IMO this is the best looking wing out there, although definitely not the least expensive. It's especially nice to have the decklid spoiler since it finishes the appearance off. Docjohn drove our car at NSXPO this year and seemed relatively pleased with it if I recall correctly, although not enough seat time in the car for a full opinion.

Let us know how it works out. Your car was looking great at NSXPO, even with Shad in the driver's seat .

Understudy, Thanks alot, I wish I would have been able to make NSXPO. I was planning on coming but had a slight change in plans that would not allow it.As far as fit and finish and quality of build go I don't think there is another wing quite as nice, but you do pay for it! I will let you know how it works out? I am anxious to find out myself. Thanks again, Kip Olson

Hi guys.Steves' white jgtc look car was surprisingly well ballanced around firebird.Tough to judge how the wing factored into it.There were not enough fast turns to tell what the aero was doing.I certainly did not feel like it was hindering top speeds at the end of the drag strip.Granted the car has a mostly stock 3.0 motor.kip let us know how it works out.

Kip,

That looks like an exceptional piece of hardware ! Not like I would expect anything less on your car. Shad seems to have something serious up his sleeve for your car and I can't wait to see the end result. I was thinking of doing something similar but the 3.0 I am looking at has a trashed bottom end. Maybe I will find another bottom end that needs just a little TLC.

Brandon

Thanks Brandon, It is a nice part. We are working on some things, I will post any results. Thanks, Kip Olson
