I thought I would introduce myself as the new owner of the 03' Silverstone NSX that was posted for sale last week. After being a Porsche owner for the last 7 years, I finally sold my modified 996TT in order to switch to the NSX.

To start things off right, I thought I'd offer up the remaining 4 Carfax reports I have left on my account to anyone that needs one. Just post up the VIN and I'll convert it to pdf for you and post it up.

All the best,
Steve

Welcome and Congrats.

I would suggest if someone wants a carfax they should request it by putting the VIN# in a PM so your carfax subscription won't be prematurely cancelled.

My remaining 4 Carfaxes have now been consumed by member requests. I will be sending the *.pdf files to you shortly. Best of luck with the hunt!

996garage? Are you serious? C'mon Steve, get with the program and change it to pvsteve. :)

Just noticed that it was 2 years ago that you registered. Oh well. At least you made the right choice. You would have been so sorry if you bought a muscle car.

Mike, I blame you for making me sell my Porsches to get this nsx. Now what am I going to do with all the money I have left over from not having to pay all those Porsche repair bills?

Finally got around to fully detailing the car and taking some photos, so I thought I'd share a couple...

Nice color looks mint! Welcome to the Best Choice of vehicle on the planet, you will probably be on this site alot if you havent already

Congrats. I was actually thinking 996tt or 4S when I decided I couldn't pull the trigger on a water cooled Porsche. So I came "over" to the NSX side and I'm glad I did. I've had several Porsches and now I am a happy contented owner of an NA1 and it's a great car. One day I may end up trading up but for now I'm very happy with what I have and I know you'll be too! They are wonderful and you won't havet worry about every noise being a possible costly maintenance issue! That's the peace of mind that we could only wish Porsche could deliver!

TRAITOR!! 911's Rock!! GErman cars are the best!! The NSX has NO TQ!!

J/K - I was putting all the typical Porsche owner comments!!

Congrats Btw, and welcome to prime!

The nsx feels pretty comparable to the non-turbo 996 I used to have. Yes it has a bit less low end torque compared to the Porsche, but the vtec makes up for it on the high end of the rpms. Even though the nsx interior is an older design, it still feels a bit better quality than the 996 interior.(not the 997 tho) I absolutely love the nsx, but you still can't beat the low prices that Porsches are going for right now. They are taking a beating on used car prices. I would never own a Porsche without an extended warranty, but with the nsx I feel like it's a waste of money.

For commuting and weekend cruising, the nsx is enough for me. I've already had a 500HP 996TT and 500+ HP big single turbo Supra, so I don't feel like I need a big HP car again.

With the nsx I notice that people really don't see you on the road, as I've almost been run off the road several times already. Investing in a set of new horns and a loud exhaust soon. I can't believe some of the mileage nsx owners are able to get on the original engines.

I've been spending at least an hour or two every night researching on prime. Thanks to the info on here, I've already fixed all the small issues. (cleaning aspirator fan, resolved dash rattle, re-glued door sill leather pads, etc...) Fortunately two of my best friends have been very long time nsx owners, so that helps too.

Excellent looking car - and excellent picture. One of the few that makes me think the newer model can look as good as the old one :)

Photos don't capture the color very well. The metallic flakes in Silverstone shine in person.

Less than 1 month of ownership and you're already itching for mods. I knew it wouldn't last long. Hehe.

Btw, I think I avoid someone who doesn't see me at least once every time I drive.

<-- post #911 in celebration of you getting rid of yours.

TBROMLEY ?????" One day I may end up trading up" You mean trading DOWN!! Those cars are garbage! you see them every where like the sheep of America!

Congrats on the purchase!

I too just purchased a 2003 about 60 days ago... and I am very pleased.

Ironically, I was looking at 996TT's very seriously and weighed the pro's &

con's of the NSX & 996 TT. I must say, I have always loved the NSX since

I first laid eyes on it back in 1991, but I've always love the 911's as well.

I read sixspeed.com up & down & sideways about the 996TT. The second

gear pop-out was the biggest worry to me. Porsche was even denying

certified pre-owned cars. Porsche would say the "event" happened at

such-n-such hour on the computer and it is not covered. To the tune of

$10,000.00 to $17,000.00 for the transmission repair.

The 996TT is a like jet with afterburners when those turbo's light up...

VERY ADDICTIVE!!!

I also read the Porsche magazine "Excellence" and all the articles and

letters inside from the owner's...

One letter really got me, the thrust of the letter was a guy who was trying

to get his 911 to go through / around his favorite exit ramp like his NSX.

The letter was basically saying his NSX's handling was the goal for his 911

through the curves... the reply from the magazine didn't even address the

NSX wasn't the goal for handling... I was expecting a reply of the 997TT

or GT3 is set up...etc...

The NSX is not as fast stock as the 996TT, clearly, but there is a Honda

hiding under there and it make it easier to sleep at night not worrying

about the second gear pop-out.

Also, someday if were really feeling ambitious there are superchargers and

turbos to be had... 500hp+ at the wheels.

Right now, I'm happy just learning to drive the car.

seeya,

Jeff

Congrats on the new purchase!

I can see your car is still at stock ride height and you already notice people "not seeing you"! haha ~ the NSX has a VERY VERY low hood line that is easily missed by other drivers so be CAREFUL! The NSX is nearly invisible to larger trucks and SUV's not to mention semi's so always drive defensively. It's not because they are trying to run you off the road but even at stock ride height the NSX hoodline is super low. Just go park next to a Ferrari when you get a chance. Mine is lowered and I was parked next to a Gallardo the other day and it made the Lambo look like a 4x4.

Sweet picture location, welcome to nsxprime ~ this is truly a great community!
