I am trying to get my 1991 NSX back to "like new" condition. First, can someone please tell me where I can buy a factory replacement clutch at a lower price than through the dealer and how much I can expect to spend? Second, I need new struts for the engine cover as well as the trunk. Where can I purchase these and how much can I expect to spend? Third, the climate control only works on full-blast. What part do I need, can I replace myself, and how much will it cost? Lastly, the brake light at the bottom of the car graphic on the dash is on but none of the brake lights on the rear are out. What would be causing this and how can I get it turned off without disconnecting it? Other than that the car is great. I would truly appreciate any information that you can provide. Thank you in advance for your help.

For the struts send yours to Frank at strutwise:

For the climate control I can repair your control board or sell you an exchange board. See my web site NSXe-repair.com

As for the brake light out warning check that all the lamps are the correct ones and if they are you will have check the monitoring relays.

The best place I have found for OEM parts is Ray Laks Honda/Acura - their price is typically ~25% off list and they have free shipping and only a $4 transaction fee - no tax of course unless you are in their state.
Contact Tim Poliniak for a quote.

See same answer as above for new struts, however check this thread in the vendor firum to where you can have your originals rebuilt at what many consider better than new

The most likely suspect is the controller itself - yes, you can replace it yourslef - it is extremely expensive so repair is a better option.
Briank from a couple of posts above will provide you an excellent service on the repair.

You can find directions on how to remove the console to access the controller by following these instructions

Check out this thread for some ideas - possibly a bad detector board or a bad connection somewhere along the way.
You will find the schematics towards the end of the thread.

As an additional troubleshooting aid,
1) Try grounding the white/green (that's white with green stripe - NOT green with white stripe!) or orange/white wire at the right brake light assembly - if your saftey indicator goes out, the problem is with one of your detector circuits (or a bulb) (If it doesn't you have a wiring problem between the lamp assemblies & the dash panel)

2) If test 1 showed problem to be in detector circuits, find the green wire from the left tail-light and connect it to ground if possible; if your safety indicator goes out, the problem is with the left safety indicator (or bulb on left side). If it doesn't, it's the right side detector (or bulb on right side)

not sure but check your brake fluid res. brake fluid may be low. in Japanese cars this is usually a culprit

Not applicable on NSX.

try www.oemacuraparts.com either way you are going to spend bucks if you want to make it like new. I am in the same boat as you and I have spent a lot of money to make it like new. good luck

I have been buying most of my parts from Scott at Acura of Escondido. Do a search on Ebay automotive for their store and send him an email on what you need. I got my new OEM clutch from him for $1000. I use www.acuraautomotiveparts.org to find the part I need and then I send him the pic and the number I need.
