Arif, your ABS accumulator or pump is bad. I had the same problem. I changed the accumulator and no more irritating and embarassing clicking sound since then.

My 2002 does this also. It will do it for about 2-3 hours after i drive (every 10-15 min). It sounds like a sick cow . OK, it is more of a pressure release sound. I have noticed it when not using the A/C and i don't see how it could be the ABS when the car has sit for a hour or so.

I also am not worried about it, but would like to know what it is.

If you want to get the answer get in touch with Larry Bastanza and get the straight poop. Then post it for all others to see. He is the man.

If so many car are having the same problem it has to to be some sort of vapor control or pressure releace, check vavle etc, If your worried it is going to kill the battery than next time you park the car pull the ground on the battery. What do you hear? If you still hear the same sound Dont worrie it wont kill the battery.

I asked this question last year and was told it was pressure release valve from fuel tank. Sounds good to me. Jeff

Again, vent the gas cap and the sound will stop, till the pressure in the gas tank builds, then the cycle starts over again. The sound is best described as a distance fog horn and this is normal for the car to do.

Its the gas vapour dumped into the charcoal cannister.
Nothing to be alarmed about. If U unscrew the cap and vent it the sound will be gone.
