Need HELP - Yellow Engine check lamp lights on

Dear All,

If I accelerate in 5th gear from ~2000-2500 rpm with full throttle the yellow engine check lamp switches on. If I turn off the engine and restarts, the lamp is off.

What could be the problem? What should I replace?

and also provide what year the car is because the NA2 and/or OBDII codes may be different than the NA1 and OBDI codes.
