I'm in the process of importing an NSX into Canada. Acura in the U.S. just called to inform me they cannot provide a recall clearance letter to the U.S. owner because they know the intention is for importing into Canada.

Does anybody have any advice or insight on this matter?

Thanks.

Vehicles relocating from US to Canada that does not have a branded title ie. salvage, flooded, etc require.

Must be US owner to bring car into Canada.

No more need to panic. I got Acura in the U.S. to finally cooperate as well as the R.I.V. in Canada. The R.I.V. in Canada was very helpful and actually made it quite painless for me.

Gregg,

I just went through the exact same thing re: importing to Canada.

American Honda (and Acura in Canada) were unable/unwilling to help. I talked to a lady at RIV and she emailed me a 2-page PDF on the step-by-step to do it myself and ... done.

What a beautiful car!

We probably talked to the same lady. I downloaded what I needed off Honda's website and sent it to her. She said they would accept without any problems. In the meantime Acura in the U.S. came around as well. The "customer care specialist" reworded his letter so that it stated the current U.S. owner was moving the car into Canada. Either way, I'm covered.

I hate to bring a thread back from the dead, but I just finished reading about this on my local canadian forum, and was a bit shocked to find how difficult it is to bring an NSX (post newer than 15 years) into Canada. While I see there are legal ways around, will Acura of Canada still service the car? The reason I ask, is I have seen similar issues with subarus, where a local dealer would not even change an owners oil, because he had bought a brand new STI from california.
