It doesn't increase the speed. How would it do that? Unless you increase the speed manually on the system. The A/C doesn't know that you have a nav pod installed. I have one and speak from experience. It does have a direct effect on how much air comes thru since the vents are half the original size. I can provide pics it you like.
When you decrease the size of the opening and maintain the fan speed (CFM) it acts like putting your thumb on the end of a water hose to some extent therefore increasing the (FPM).
