For those of you who are unaware, I recently purchased BLAZEDNSX's black on black 2004 Acura NSX. This was a "sight unseen" purchase in which I was truly impressed with BLAZEDNSX's honesty and professionalism throughout the sale (thanks buddy). Anyway, although the car was in immaculate condition, the owner before BLAZENSX had added a JDM Navigation Pod that just seemed out of place. Don't get me wrong, the pod itself looked fine. However, it's matte black finish clashed with the 2004's existing silver trim and looked markedly aftermarket IMHO. Because of this, I took the pod down to a local body shop and had them paint the bezel surrounding the screen to match the rest of the trim in the car. Now the pod appears to "flow" into the rest of the center console as if it were a standard factory option. Here are some pics...

Thanks guys and Lamchop168 I do like how your Garmin turned out. I'm planning on doing something similar in the near future. I'm sure the Pioneer system that you and I have had in our cars was cutting edge at the time, but wow...it used some rather large independent components, a ton of wiring and probably cost a pretty penny to accomplish what can now be had in a 4" x 3" Garmin bought off the shelf for around a $100. It's amazing how quick technologies become obsolete.

the one thing I HATE about the Nav pod is the type of plastic used to create it.. I have gone thru 2 pods and they disinigrate after sun exposure LOL

I mean you touch them and the break like powder.
