i read through the FAQ and i still have some q's. the faq makes it sound like the NSX and NA mods are a waste. it this true? what kinda power does a I/H/E(with tp) car make? it also mentioned that vtec controllers are usless? i know its apples to grapes but my S2 make some of the best power with a good vafc tune.

i guess what i am looking for is some realtime tuning. what has worked? TIA.

i dunno if you can tell but, NSX NEXT!!

Wrong. On a 3.0l motor, i/h/e + tp will give you more than 25 rwhp. On a 3.2l motor, which has better factory headers, it will be perhaps around 20 rwhp. I can tell you that a 3.0l NSX becomes another car with i/h/e + tp.

Right. There are problems to control the valve lift of the two benches of cylinders with one vafc to change the vtec engagement point. You can try a safc and control the a/f ratio only and I think you can get perhaps a 5 rwhp gain with a good tuning. But is it worth the money ? (you can get driving courses, brake pads or a supsension upgrade for this money, which will be more efficient).

thanks. i had heard that the 3.0's responded to mods VERY well, but the FAQ got me all confused. i understand what your saying on the vafc thing. what kinda AFR do these cars run stock. my s2000 ran 12.1:1 AFR stock and with tuning i have leaned it out to 13.8:1 and it makes 13rwhp with that just alone.

The I/H/E helps a lot, more hp, less weight. The dali chip, SOS tuned ECU offer additional gain.

The graph below is contain A/F ratio of stock NA2:

This is NA1:

Vtec controllers for a NSX are useless, there are many topics/threads about this, clearly written and illustrated.
All i can say is have a look in the workshopmanual where Vtec is explained.
