My wife picked up the car today from the seller in L.A. She liked the car more than she thought. She said that the car was so clean (just like new).

Here is the story.

One of the previous nsx owners, who happened to work for my father-in-law went along with my wife and her family to pick up the car.

In fact, the guy had an amazing knowledge of cars (having worked at a body shop), and proved to be extremely helpful. Upon the arrival at the seller's house, he spotted something that the technician at MV Acura did not find during the inspection (the technician had told me that the car was in excellent condition).

He saw that underneath the left hand side fender did not perfectly align (don't know exactly which part since I was not there), and that there was a bit of paint work on the lower part of the bumper. My wife and the seller could not tell, but he said he could. He stated that the car may have been in a minor fender-bender accident.

The seller (being an old man, and a second owner) did not even know that the car may have been in an accident (the car was never in any accident during his possession, and since he purchased the car at 10k miles, he did not think that it was in any kind of accidents) prior to his ownership.

He (the car guy), then, immediately called me, and let me know of the situation. He frankly told me that it was not anything big at all, and only the most anal people may notice. Since I knew how nice and honest the seller was, I did not want to make a big deal at the last minute.

Nevertheless, the seller gladly reduced the price even further (the final price that I paid is so low that I will tell you only if you ask me).

So that's it, guys!! I will pick up the car when Spring comes in Boston.

I can't wait. I can't work (though I have a deadline). I can't wait (did I say enough?

!!

Again, thanks, guys!! Although I found the car from ebay, I must admit that I was 1) lucky to have found a clean car, and 2) it was definitely worth waiting for 2 years.

Glad and I told and feel yas gonna get the X when I met you!!

maybe sometimes we can have a little Boston Gathering ...

I can't wait to see my car!!

You found hidden damage on the car and the OLD man had no idea??Even the Acura dealer failed to point it out??A quick drop of the price and everything is fine? How much was the car originally and what was the final selling price?I hope the OLD man didnt recommend the dealer that inspected the car.

I guess that I did not explain the situation in clearer manner. It was not really a hidden damage. It turns out that front bumper was painted (from rock chips or scratches not from accidents - the bumper is original). This was later confirmed by some kind of paint density checking thing.

In addition, the fender alignment issues was also resolved. It turns out that it was not mis-aligned at all, and it could just have been the angle from the way the car was parked at that time (again, since I was not there, I could not really understand what my friend was talking about - he later corrected his statement).

I asked him to take the car to the dealer that I was recommended by other NSXers, and it was inspected by a repuatble technician (I won't mention his name). So I know that the technicain did a thorough check, and he said he would give 9.9/10 for the car.

In any case, I guess that I made it sound as if the car was a lemon or something.

No, the car is absolutely perfect except for those paints that I mentioned.

I looked for my NSX for a long time, and I am going to keep it for a long time. I wanted the best NSX that I could get, and I can't believe I finally got it.

The original asking price was $42k. Final price that we first agreed upon, and the final price that I paid is lower than this price.

We have just developed pictures of the car! My wife took 2 roles of films when she picked up the car, and it turned out that one of them was black and white

Pretty much 99% of pictures were taken in black and white films

Also, it turns out that the true color of Midnight Pearl is extremely hard to be captured in the camera. The following picture is among 1% of the "color" pictures that she took.

BTW, how do I reduce the size of the picture?

Nice car, I have been looking for a MINT and clean VERY LOW mileage purple, blue, or orange NSX for my second NSX. Wow, for less than $42k? I would've bought that car

I came across the owner of a Midnight Pearl NSX in Brookfield, CT a few months back. Last I knew it was for sale at $48.5k. He's the owner of a Home Theater/Car Stereo place in Brookfield called Sounds Incredible
