My version of a 2500lb NSX....

That's crazy! (In a cool way)

I think, if you put in a supercharger, won't you need to put on wider wheels/tires? I think you might get past your grip limit if you get more power.

The fixation of the battery is hardcore, hopefully you didnt do the same with the seat belts

Despite how it looks there is absolutely not a chance in this world that the battery is coming off. It's mounted with exterior mounting tape on the bottom (which would've been good enough) and those zip ties are the huge 1/2 inch kind. I couldn't even pull it off if I tried......

Looks great and probably drives even better. I use my A/C about 5 times a year unless I have other people in my car. I use my heater probably 5-10 times a year. And that's with my DD.

I'd probably do the same thing. I got my 91 300zx turbo down to 3100lbs [from almost 3500] without removing the A/C or heater. The interior was fully gutted and I saved over 200lbs on the lighter downpipes, test pipes, cat back, and removing a bunch of emissions nonsense. I think I used the A/C twice, the day I bought it to make sure it worked and the day I sold it to make sure it worked.

I'm really surprised you are this obsessed with weight and you have an engine cover?

Thats exactly the first thing I thought?
No need for an engine cover just get very light tint.

I love the bear minimum appeal of his car and have considered do similar to mine. in at 2750 or so and will get to 2650 without losing any comforts but its hard to make that decision to remove everything. I would rather start with another NSX than rip stuff out of mine. If I find a beater NSX on ebay I will go for it.

Engine cover protects wires-plastic from being scrotched in Sunlight.

The lightest of tint will protect the hoses just as well. and you can still see through

Here is mine

The engine cover also deters theft people will assume it has a civic motor or something inferior. ahhahahha :)

I really really really like the look of that cover, so it's going to stay...... And it only weighs 5 pounds, so not too bad..... The appearance of the car is somewhat important to me so its all about compromising some of the potential weight loss for the overall look of the car.

At 2750 your pretty light! You can probably pull off another 100-200 pounds by pulling off some of the small things around the car and/or by swapping out some of the heavier parts. I'm assuming you've already done some of that but if you haven't done it already the following items weigh a lot and don't really take away from the "comfort" of the car:

-windshield wiper blades and motor
-rear bumper beam
-lightweight battery

But yeah, you're pretty much at the point where the next 250lb's you take off of your car is going to have to come from "comfort items." that stuff is super heavy!

Btw which strut bar is that? Jason, isn't this the one that you wanted?

DC Sports Carbon Fiber Strut Bar.

I have considered the rear bumper beam, but considering the replacement options price per pound of savings. Seems not really worth it.

Windshield Wiper Blades not sure about since I do drive in rain occasionally. Even though there not necessary but not sure I'm ready to go hard core

What do you mean? Does it stick out a lot or is it taller than the OEM lip (therefore, hangs lower)?

It was 2-piece project mu SCR-PRO rotors, and Spoon sports aluminum 4-piston calipers, using OEM pads, the same diameter rotors as OEM.

scorp:
do you know of anyone on Prime who has done this mod? I am interested doing this mod and would like more detail info.
thx
