Hi

As you may or may not know...I bought Gheba_nsx's NSX...

I drove from Zurich to Narvik in 4 days. I did about 1750 miles/2800 kilometers of driving.

Today it is tuesday. I have been home since sunday at 1930. I have since then done about 700km in my "neigbourhood"...:) :)

The trip north was just fantastic. People coming over when I filled gas and asking what kind of car it was..Everybody I met was amazed about the car...really fun.

I will post some pictures here.

Enjoy

Regards

This photo was taken on Copenhagen airport.

I could not touch any of this because I was on my way to drive a NSX:)

Not often that I see things like that being from north of Norway so I took a picture of it
:)

Then we drove down to the underground parking where Gheba lives

This car was under a red cover. I almost smiled my jaw out of alignment...it was a amazing sight..It will be something I will never forget

We went for a testdrive and Gheba drove throug some tunnels and it was just almost religious experience.. The Tubi was as amazing as I have read here on Prime..Really nice.

I did my testdrive, and we also drove the way where I was supposed to drive the following day.

If you see in front of the NSX there is a nice Vespa. That was my ride the following day. Gheba did you really think that I was able to remember anyting you told me about where to drive to get the export plates? :) :)

I was driving my dream car at last, but I tried to listen to your instructions I really did :) :)

Well Gheba had a map for me, but I got lost. But I finally made it to the DOT(where to get export plates). The trip there had taken me a while but it looked like I was keeping the schedual. But the DOT's computer was down. I tried to joke around with the DOT people, but it was amazing how similar they are to the local DOT people. They did not even smile to me when I told them in a funny way that I had to get the export plates today because I had to be at work on monday 2000 miles north.

Well I finally got the plates and drove off on the Vespa. I have no pictures during the day because I forgot the camera at Gheba's.

After some sms's back and forth from Gheba and me and a call to my local bank in Norway the finance was in order. I just had to get back to Gheba to pick up the car. That was not easy ofcourse. I got lost but I found home in the end.

We packed the car really good..I had to have the tires with me because I may need them if the weather was bad in Norway.

Gheba drove the car up from the garage...that was really scary...how he could do that without ever scratching the car I can not understand. It was so tight and I was running behind him scared shitless

We packed things really good. The tires bothered me but not as much as I feared. They did not move at all and was not in the way for any controls. I did not like that I was not able to see the mirror, but it was exceptable..

Then it was time to that final handshake. We got a jogger that passed by to take a picture of us. (The jogger was actually a huge Norway fan..that was fun)

Then I drove off into the sunset...I was a little scared at first what I had done...because the car felt a little bit "loose" going down the Autobahn...but then I saw the trucks almost tipping over because of the hard winds from the side.. It was only the wind and I enjoyed the ride more and more as I drove..

Martin,

That was a wonderful write-up!
Once again, congratulations on your car. Driving your NSX in Norway must be so amazing.

I drove about 600km on thursday. I was pretty tired when I stopped at Køln. I was supposed to drive off the Autobahn where the A3 and A1 crossed, but I did not see the sign.

I was at Køln at about 00.00, but I drove the wrong way and was almost in Belgium or something when I found out.. well I got to bed at about 0300 that night.

Did about 2 hours sleep and then was up at 0500 and on the road by 0530. I had about 600km to drive to Kiel and I was afraid to be late. I had to be there at 1200.

I had no trouble in getting up. I was tired but the bigges motivation was standing outside...the NSX :)

The drive there went super smooth. It was some traffic, but not bad at all.

I got stopped by the german police. I passed one policecar on the autobahn and was expecting to be pulled over. I had no rear number plate where it was supposed to be. The Zurich DOT had givin me a plate that did not fit so we just put it above the engine bay behind the "hydraulic" of the engine glass..

Well I got pulled over and the german police was very polite and told me that they had a report about a Ferrari driving fast on the autobahn without a numberplate..
:D :D :D

I shook his hand and thanked him.. :D :D

He told me to put the plate where it was supposed to be.. well I really did try to do what we agreed...but then again it was only 140km left to Kiel and .....

The police reminded me of my grandfather actually...he was also a kind man and a policeofficer...kind but strict.

I just drove off after they was gone :D (sorry german police:p

I got to Kiel in a matter of hours..I was really amazed. I had calculated to be stuck in traffic, but everything went super smooth.

I was there with many hours to spare. I got time to drive to the TUV office to get a type approvel certificate that my local DOT needs.

Then I had dinner on the ferry and went to sleep for a couple of hours..then got up..walked around the ship and had another dinner....then in the evening I had another one...I have not eaten well for the last month or so because of the excitement of buying the NSX..

On the ferry I slept like a baby..had one beer watched 30 minutes of from Dusk to Dawn on my laptop and fell asleep..

I was up early the next morning excited to start the NSX again..

I drove off the ferry and drove into the red zone at the customs. The Customs guy was amazed and asked if I had anything else with me besides the car...then he looked inside the NSX and said: "nah there is not room for anything here so just drive along"...he was ofcourse correct..I had a bottle of cocnac, but there was not space for anything else..

this is at the customs office in Oslo

Cool car cover. Is that OEM over there?
Good write up and story also. Congrats on the purchase!

I met my brother and mother and they were also amazed about the car.. My car will eventually cost my brother a lot of money because he now have to get himself a Porsche (he is into Porsche's) and the urge was even higher after testdriving my car :)

I met with Biter and took some photos.. a family with children walked by and they only looked at my NSX....sorry Biter..must be the color or something :)

Then I drove north. I was kind of late after showing the car to many of my friends in Oslo.

I decided to stay in Trondheim after driving about 500km from Oslo.

I stayed with Tore Kvittem (also in the forum) and we went into Trondheim and cruised around. We stopped in the centre of the city and met up with friends from our local Club Honda meeting. It was a lot of fun.

Now people were looking at my car and not me looking at theirs
:)

Forgot...here is a picture of the Ferrari we "raced"

:)

Then I went up on Saltfjellet. That is a mountain pass that I was afraid of. But the road was okey. Only some snow here and there on the road. I snapped a picture driving past the Polar Circle "house"....lot of snow as you can see..

I could not stop and take a picture here because the parking lot was coverd in snow:eek:
