Decided the Legend needed some luvin'

Mid winter she was looking tired. I kept getting a brake error light coming on, one of my HIDs blew, and the car's paint was looking shabby. Still, she was young by most people's standards: Just crossed 90,000kms last week, not bad for a 1992.

I found that my ballast was shot (after ordering a new blub which set me back $80!), so replaced that, found out the brake light was caused by low fluid (duh!), I had the car tinted 35% all around while I was in Japan and had a friend do a buff job. The car looks like its been repainted!

With all the talk of tires lately here I decided to go with the chrome rims I bought in the fall and ordered some Kumhos ECSTA Supra 712 (Z-rated) through a friend's shop. This was the last set through his distributor and was sold at closeout prices. I couldn't complain. I was amazed that all 4 wheels with the old tires (corded Yoko Paradas) all fit easily in the trunk! Today I took the wheels to a buddy nearby and had the tires mounted and put on the car. I have to say I was happy with the look and think letting the OZ's go was the right choice.

These rims sort of fell into my lap as my friend needed to get rid of them due to an impending move and I thought my previous set looked too motorsporty for the legend (bronze with polished lip ADR fuel). These fit very nicely, sits perfectly flush with the fenders and looks pretty aggressive. No hub-centric rings needed either.

Sorry for the small pics:

(the wheel design look very similar to OZ Superleggeras)

Thats basically all I intend to do for this car. After all its just a beater. Likely will keep it 2 more years or until it reaches 150K kms and then sell it or give it to a relative.
