MTV pimp my car - Ford Escort conversion episode question

On last night's Pimp My Ride, they fixed up a really sad Ford Escort to bling bling condition. The front end had a BMW facade, with the signature grill and lights.

The interior was stunning - all power leather seats, all power windows added including a sun-roof. There were LCD screens everywhere, including the visors.

I had a burning question - wouldn't it have been cheaper to donate the Escort to charity, and buy a new BMW? That way the girl could actually have the driving performance of a BMW rather than a heavily bling bling-ed BMW look-alike that drives like an Escort...

Well, it is Pimp MY ride...not "Buy me a new car" (although there was that one time with the Scion...but that guy's car wouldn't even run anymore lol). It probably would have been cheaper to buy a BMW, but they would have spent more in the long run if they still added all the little accessories they always add.
 
I always wondered if they would do that show if I sent them one of my NSX's??? ;)
 
Would you really be willing to find out? It'd come back lime green with gold flakes, have 29 TV monitors, 22" chrome spinners, and have no engine because they needed to make room for the 4 subwoofers and amp lol....
 
i think thats part of the appeal of that show. take a care thats worth MAYBE a thousand bucks, and drop 20 grand into the stereo.
Its neat, though the thing i worry about with this particular show, is that they dont modify the internals. Its still usually a piece of junk with a million miles that runs like crap, but now its got spinners!

LOL, i can't imagine why. :p What's up with the rear... it's too low compared to the front?! And why are the rear wheels smaller than the front? :confused:

Somebody did... how else can you explain where the 2F2F NSX came from? :D
