Just returned from our first extended cruise in the NSX. Me and my 16 year old son went from Orlando FL up through the north Georgia mountains to Gatlinburg TN. Spent several days cruising some of the best roads in the area and white-water rafting. According to the GPS we travelled 1912 miles in 34:25 hours, average speed of 55.5 m/h with a top speed of 3760 m/h (don't remember going that fast!).
We ran the Dragon (US 129 out of Deals Gap NC) twice. The second time my son drove. Imagine being 16 years old and having the opportunity to drive an NSX on that road. The best thing I had to drive at that point in my life was my Dad's Chevy Vega GT. Ran into some guys from Germany test driving the new BMW Z4. What a job; six guys in four cars over in the states for 4-weeks driving nice cars on great roads, and getting paid for it.
I used to riding these roads on motorcycles, first time in a sports car. Turned out to be quite fun. The car can't match the bike for braking and acceleration, but will certainly hold its own in cornering. Didn't have any problems with the car either. Would highly recommend the Escort 8500 radar detector; saved my ass several times.
Can't wait to go again. The roads here in Florida seem just a little straighter and flatter everytime I return from a mountain trip.
