I'm trying to get an idea for how much insurance would be on a 600cc sport bike (CBR600, ZX-6, YZF600, R1) for a twenty-one year old. If the bike is under my dad's name (clean record), how much will that affect the rate? I'm just trying to get a rough estimate without having to call the insurance company.

Too many variables - how many years have you been riding? Previous motorcycles insured?

Would you be getting a loan for the bike (and thus require full coverage), or are you only looking for liability?

What types of coverage? Medical?

I'd say somewhere between $200 and $2000 a year, ballpark, depending on where you fit in the lines.

try Allstate and Erie - back when I had my first bike ('97) they were very reasonable. and that was for full coverage on a GSXR 750
