after removing my trans I looked at the top trans mount and the motor mounts and they seem to have cracks all the way through the hard rubber. although I didnt notice this driving I would still like to source new ones. Anyone know where I can find these?

TiDave made his own but he didn't recommend it. Might check the DIY.

He heated the black rubber (blow torch what a mess) than made two plats (one with a fill hole) clamped and filled with a hard silicone....let dry.

I bough the hard ones from SOS

BTW: with the SOS ones you can replace the rubber

You might want to try to get a good used one at EZR Car. Joe Toth may be able to help you. Give him a call at 718-774-7846. I purchased two good used ones from him a couple years ago. His service lately has really gone downhill. Good luck.

I cleaned them up real well and filled the voids with urethane. By filling the voids this stiffens the mount and helps to keep it from failing like the one that you have. The urethane is available at Auto Zone or most auto parts stores. Be sure to get the stuff that hardens. It is made by 3M and is originally designed to install windshields. I have a partial tube at home that has a part number on it if you need.

I had the same issue that you have. Autowave replaced mine with the science of speed engine mounts when my transmission was rebuilt. Pretty heavy duty mounts.

Your local Acura dealer can get them for you.

I fixed my motor mounts for < $5 as well... you get this stuff from Lowes:

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=100575-69-P73948125

PL Polyurethane Glue

Fixed my broken/cracked mounts. They are like new! No more clunking.

Tape up one side with masking tape, fill voids with glue. Let dry for min 4-6hr. Completely dry in 24hours. "Workable" in about 2hours.

*Note: The better of a tape job you do, the better they end result will look.. ie: smooth vs crinkly finish:D

Enjoy!

The stuff that I used is:

3M Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane part number 08609. It comes in a metal tube that fits in a caulk gun. 10.5 fl oz. I did get it at AutoZone.

So, for those of you with the urethane'd mounts, and especally those of you with the Science of Speed mounts, how much did engine/drivetrain vibration inside increase when you replaced or modified your mounts?
