Thought I'd mention the SABATO track day on May 10th. It's open track format similar to Dexter track days. Haven't received confirmation on their 2006 track fees. Last year the fees were $400/day which includes complementary continental breakfast (coffee, juice, muffins, fruit, etc), a speculator gourmet lunch (catered - not the crap served from on-site grease pit) and a happy hour (with even more food) after the track closes. If you're on a diet, you might want to pass on this one. Same track rules as your typical club (BMW, PCA, etc) schools. For more info, contact the person below.

Hi Alessandra - I received your email about the coming track day and the choices. Im hoping to attend on the 23rd.

Andrew and I are both coming on the 23rd, so you'd better Dave, unless you don't like being passed!

Sabato is awesome because if it rains you'll still have a great time eating!

Dave, did you go yesterday? Andrew went, I didn't bother (although I paid) since it was raining. Andrew's observation was lots of people who aren't real track drivers, like not emptying their (street) cars, not knowing what to really do, every run group was slow and the turnout was huge. By noon he had two runs of about 15 mins and went home.

I think they're attracting folks who are "casual" track guys, two times a year and never before @ Mosport. No fun for us to be a part of. Next year I'm at every Bartling day - they get 5 guys showing up and have one simple rule, "if you're a whiner or shit head you can't run with them - be safe and have fun!"

Reading over this thread again, my suggestion to newbies who are interested: Hanson moved their day to Saturday Nov 11th. Hanson's Day is on the small track (lower speed corners and only one wall). Come to Hanson, you will not wear anything on your car in a real way, you won't risk an accident or anything stupid unless you're a complete dweeb and you'll have an excellent instructor.

Not only is there lots of track time, but there are drills that you'll WANT to do, like a slalom, panic stop and turn, etc. that will make you feel great about your car and give you confidence and skills for the street.

Follow you and risk oil slicks and the dreaded rearward part farts?

:yikes:

Yeah, your car may blow oil and lose parts going as fast as me, but it'll probably just be hard on your sphyncter muscles!
