Where does it say in the Constitution that the U.S. government is supposed to psychoanalyze young mothers to ensure they are not insane?
This kind of thing is terrible but it happens. Bad things happen. People always try to look back at the causes so as to gain some sort of insight as to why it happened (and then perhaps try to prevent it?). Unfortunately, not all bad things can be prevented. There is no perfect system. Furthermore, family members and loved ones of these troubled peope should not be expected to prevent all of this either.
I think it is just part of life, and I think it happened in the past as well. There just was'nt 24-7 news coverage and the internet to spread the bad news as efficiently.
The only people I am really angry at are the cowards who stood on the edge of the pier and dialed 911 while those kids drowned to death.
i hear that in America, that if you dive in to rescue a victim, and the victim eventually dies, YOU ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE. maybe this is why nobody bothers helping?
isn't there a Good Samritan Act in US? In canada, as long as you didn't neglect the victim, you won't be held responsible for the victim's death.
however, I am a certified lifeguard, so if i don't dive in to help, I could be held responsible. If the victim dies, I could be held responsible as well.
