Mileage question on a '95...!?! (car-fax/Ebay url's)

A '95 w/ 65,454 miles has a car-fax that showed 40,693 miles on 02/24/02. That is nearly 25,000 miles in a little over a year and half...??? *odd*

I just wanted some insights- on how to approach this. It's a DC-area car, and I am flying into DC in 2weeks from London (I was abroad for training).

I appreciate any insights (from the usual suspects). . .

Someone actually purchased the sports car and did what one should do...drive it. Probably used as their everyday car which can add up the miles quick. Don't see any problems because I doubt someone would roll the miles higher.

Carfax milege gets recorded only if the owner went through the annual state inspection, insurance odometer check, and etc. If the person has never gone through any type of inspection, it is difficult for the carfax to have the exact odometer record.

I would agree that the owner just drove the car a lot ever since the odometer was recorded by public sources. I wouldn't worry too much.
