Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Who is planning on attending the annual Eyes On Design car show at the Ford Estate in Grosse Pointe Shores on Sunday?
We've been volunteering at the show for a few years now, and I can't say enough good things about it, including the superb venue.

We will be in the U.P. this weekend. But the EOD show is always excellent. I actually managed to make it out to Bakers in the Conti this last weekend with my son. First time there in at least 2 years. Big turnout and the Ford GT club was there.

Oh man, what time were you there on Sunday?
I was at the Waterford OTD, so didn't make it to Baker's until nearly 5pm.

Have decided to "shrink" the herd a little.
In acquiring this one Jan. of 2017 my mission was to preserve it as a "one of one" and enjoy it for some 7-8K miles of driving. Mission accomplished!

Ugh Neal, that's a tough read o_O

I was not just the only the only Acura on the Eyes On Design driving tour, but the only Japanese car period.

Met someone new at a car show today, I think his name was Joe and he has a red 94. He said he's been on here before.

Did you sell the car after the auction, I thought I saw it didn't meet the reserve.

Yes....... yes, it IS a trailer. They fabbed it to match. It holds their four extra track wheels and other track gear.

I was at Mid Ohio today too, in fact if you watched the driver's parade lap, the first black s2000 with Pietro Fittipaldi was me driving.

We made it a trifecta of car shows on Sunday, starting at the BaT C&C event at the Packard Proving Grounds waaaay up in Shelby Township.
It was a cool/sunny morning, but lots of interesting cars participated and the Packard Museum was open for viewing as well.
Next was the annual Battle of the Brits show at Camp Dearborn, which is always fun and has a bunch of motorcycles to check out as well.
Finally, we ended the day at the ongoing weekly Baker's of Milford show....where we often also have dinner since their food is pretty great.
We took the purple boostmonster, which as usual enjoyed plenty of interest since most of the people we met had never seen anything like it before

The yearly SCCA sanctioned and village of Empire (MI) sponsored EMPIRE HILL CLIMB was conducted the weekend of Sept. 20th. Cindy (SCCA Detroit Region Flag Chief) worked it - flagging and communications - and was stationed at start. About 45 cars entered, everything from an old Rolls-Royce to a Caterham. They all got six timed runs up the ~ 1/2 mile curvy hill.

NSX content: At Friday evening's Tech inspection/gathering there was a Brooklands Green 1994 NSX w/tan interior. It did not run the hillclimb.
Also NSX related content: Longtime Primer and great guy @curtsr 's brother Craig and his son were both entrants. Craig ran his beautiful 2006 Acura RSX Type-S, and Craig's son ran a race-prepped late 90's Civic hatch.

Good weather, village of Empire a super host, great people, no incidents.

Take the high road or the low road?

Friday evening's participant gathering picnic shelter. Driver registration and Tech inspections. Always a laid-back friendly time with some food, some adult Pepsi's, and lots of cars to check out.

Today (Sunday 6th October and incredible weather) I drove my trusty-rusty 2008 Honda Accord 4 door 4 cyl on south to Toledo/Sylvania, Ohio, for the 8th annual Vin Dever's Euro Car Show. Magnificent show. Plenty of BMW, Porschkee, M-B, Astons, VW's, Lotus, Jaguars, Bentley, a few Ferraris and a Lambo etc etc or two.
Devers is an Audi and Merz-Benz dealership and really threw a nice event. Recommend.

what are your thoughts on the Emira?
I've only seen a handful of Emiras, but the '1st Edition' manual supercharged V6's sure look like a nice package.
Some friends brought theirs to the Eyes on Design (Friday) Driving Tour, and they really like it a lot.
Here's an interesting video contrasting an early (if updated) NSX versus the Emira;

what are your thoughts on the Emira?

Hey Hass!

As Brian stated above, it appears a very nice package...... the "1st Edition" version has all options I guess and well, maybe...... they will cool off a couple thou as availability increases. The blue one depicted above was ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ very nice.
I like the styling, the available colors, the power-plant. I dislike the shift knob. Minor dislike I know.
Fellow NSX Primer @Bob_54 is examining them hard and I hope he bites.

The F & C enthusiast (Flagging & Communications) worked her second F1 race weekend, last weekend at COTA. I tagged along for fun and leisure time around Austin - never been there before. She was the Chief Post Marshal at COTA turn 18 and below is a pic of her team. She stated they had a blast and all got along very well.

Second image is at daybreak from atop the observation tower.

Meanwhile, I took in the Del McCoury Band show at Meanwhile Brewing Company. Del is 89 years old and still going strong. Amazing show in a small venue. I enjoyed a great seat right in front.

And Austin? Growing like crazy - construction everywhere, gridlocked traffic. Weird. Weird like Ann Arbor on steroids.
