anyone here have/had a Mazda Miata??

I was wishing I could pick up an early model Miata and just drive its wheels off for a couple years, but my height makes me question if I'd even be able to drive it.

I"ve always assumed I'd never fit in the driver seat of one, but upon recent discovery I found I fit in MR2-Spyders. Close fit, but fit enough to comfortably and effectively drive it. I do not, however, fit in the new Solstice. (damned engineers gotta figure this out). I fit in the NSX barely (aftermarket steering wheel would be in the works), I fit in Minis, don't fit into Crossfires. I fit into most normal pedestrian cars fine, and I'm used to a tight fit - which is comfortable for me.

I'm 6' 4-5", and athletic build.

So yea, would I be able to drive a Miata?

I'm 6'5 (200lbs) and I "fit" in the solstice but it wasn't comfortable to sit and shift gears. I've sat in a miata with the top down and I was too tall for it.unless I wanted to wear some old aviator goggles.
The worst car lately that I had trouble fitting was the new Ford Thunderbird. Almost turned around out of the aport rental lot.

There are times where I wish I was taller, but after reading about these types of problems I am glad I am 5'11". Everything is made to fit average height people, now if I could just take about 20lbs. off the middle!

I'm just like you. Btw I thought the average height for males was 5'8".

You are one big girl.

I'm assuming here, since you're looking at a Miata.

Just kidding - I was just talking about getting one today to do some autocrossing - they're just about perfect for that.
