fwiw, i've known **many** people who have undergone personality changes over the course of their lives... it's called "maturing".

when the "maturing" occurs suddenly, **my observation** is that it's usually do to some "big bang" - finding religion, near death, loss of a loved one, etc.

while i frequently disagree with liftshard - and while he may have misspoken by using "jesus" (implying christianty on some level) - i agree with the sentiment of that element of his post... there usually needs to be some big bang for someone to **suddenly** rehabilitate (sp? sorry if wrong).

as for the rest of his post, he's on his own

I hear you on his first comment and that's why I tempered my original post by saying that perhaps he was trying to be funny rather than be taken seriously. I think that might be the case but he's doing such a good job of making an ass out of himself with the rest of his spew that the message gets lost in the mix.

I will agree with his assessment of Football players. The majority I have known through my college years were douchebags with an IQ normally lower than their jersey #'s. Of course there are others that are very intelligent and cool guys. I would say that is the minority from what I have seen.

I will also agree about the majority of hot chicks being high-maintenance. Anyone who disagrees with that has not dated a hot-chick IMO. :biggrin:

Again, there are exceptions.

Before I met the right woman, and when I was a younger man, I was lucky enough to date a lot of good looking women. And to a degree, I agree with your statement. But I found that once girls became women (ie got out of the highschool and college dream world) many began to realize what's really important in life and I began to find a lot more hot women that I thought had their heads screwed on right. I'm sure the same can be said of guys; however, maturation works its wonders on both sexes.

And while I never played football (baseball, waterpolo and surfing for me), I was good friends with a lot of football players all through school. There's merit to your statement, in my experience, but even some of the guys that I thought were meathead jerks in highschool grew up and became pretty good guys once reality kicked them in the ass.

Ahh, the exceptions. When you happen across one, don't let them go..... so rare, oh so rare they are.

To date, I have an excellent track record of finding the 'norm' who pretend to be the exception for about a month... just long enough to fool me.

I was fortunate that my most recent girlfriend was one of the rare 'complete packages'. She is going to be famous one day, so you guys will get a chance to see for yourselves.
