Apparently Miami had a bad date. I'm sure we'd all like to hear ... so we can sympathize and help make her feel better. :D

If you feel comfortable doing so, take it away Miami!

Aww, Neo, you're so funni* I was just looking thru the threads and I see this. hehe. Yea, so long story but let's just say the ex is, well, just that-an ex. :( Gonna keep my words short so I don't step on my own feet ;)

Ok, well..... He's the one who played football in Memphis. You know, the one that I moved to Memphis and had my '92 transported there for (and was once engaged to). Anyhoo, we've been chatting the past couple months. Like a fool, I thought he was a changed man. Let's just say, all his true colors appeared again last night. Just sad. I was once hopeful about this, but, alas, it was only a dream. :frown:

Don't ever look back. People are the way they are and you weren't seeing things the first time. Unless people find Jesus, they don't change much.

You seem like the type to be dating football players and status-y guys. You're gonna meet a lot of jerks.

.

What does that mean? Do you know her? Sound like kind of a harsh thing to say....

Dude... I don't meant to offend you but that's got to be one of the crappiest posts I've seen on this board.

In your first paragraph you imply (either intentionally or maybe you were trying to be humorous) that people who don't find Jesus (read non-Christians) are losers.

In your second paragraph, I read your statement about what kind of guys Dawn dates as an attack on her character that's way out of left field and uncalled for.

WTF?

As nice as this is, I don't think we should bring/refresh BAD dates here. As for me, I like to keep it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind and never to remember again. I am sure Ms. Mermaid would want the same if I am not mistaken. :D

What a stupid thing to say.

WTF?

Both you and the previous guy are bending over yourselves to compete for a chick's attention. Gimme a break, ok?

I imply nothing of the kind w/ the find Jesus crack. In fact, it was a statement about how difficult it is for true change to occasion people.

As for the second accusation, get over yourself, man. I call it like I see it. Let's see here, what, a fashion model in Miami...gee, lemme take a spin on the wheel to see what type of guys are going to be in the circle.

Where oh where were you when my "character" was "attacked" by someone suggesting I might date too many hot and superficial women? Don't be a sychopant.

Oh PUHLEAZE.

Out of the myriads of people I've ever met, a handful have EVER made meaningful change. In almost ALL of those cases, it was due to religion.

And, zahntech, I ain't never been one to mince words. Football players and status-y guys tend toward the jerk end of the spectrum just as surely as hot chicks tend toward the high-maintenance, hard to please, b!tch end of the spectrum.

Do you people live under rocks or something?

Why don't you let the principal get "offended" at me first before rushing to her rescue, for christ's sake.

Who's the previous guy? Me?

Dunno...I think people are just disturbed by my avatar and it causes them to associate a negative emotional reaction w/ me.

Perhaps i should use Miami's photo as an avatar...then I'd have a million true real friends to rush to my defence. Just like my ex had, in fact. Lots of guys saying nice things ALL the time, filling her head w/ the notion that it was her entitlement to never hear any bad news. Boy, did I rain on THAT parade.

Lose your thesaurus and get a grip.

With all due respect to Dawn, I'm a happily married man to smokin' hot woman that leaves me with no reason at all to "compete" for anyone else's attention. I called you out because your post was entirely inappropriate and I don't care who it was directed at.

You might call it like you see it, but your perspective is crap.

I'm defending Dawn just as I would any other member of this board. You don't know her, and yet you feel compelled to prejudge her and label her as someone who is drawn to a certain type of guy?

And to your last point, I don't know what you're talking about but if someone made an uncalled for and crappy comment like yours in another thread and I had seen it, I would have called him/her out as well.

fwiw, i've known **many** people who have undergone personality changes over the course of their lives... it's called "maturing".

when the "maturing" occurs suddenly, **my observation** is that it's usually do to some "big bang" - finding religion, near death, loss of a loved one, etc.

while i frequently disagree with liftshard - and while he may have misspoken by using "jesus" (implying christianty on some level) - i agree with the sentiment of that element of his post... there usually needs to be some big bang for someone to **suddenly** rehabilitate (sp? sorry if wrong).

as for the rest of his post, he's on his own :)

merm:

boy, ain't life a b*tch sometimes? :( two steps forward, one backward... or, said another way, 10 Attaboys and 1 "Aw Sh*t" wipes 'em out.

good luck on finding just the right person for you... when that happens, life will be **good** :)

You're right, we should all stand aside as someone who is doing an excellent job of portraying himself to be a loudmouth, opinionated, prejudging clown takes pot shots at a fellow member of this board? Sure, that makes sense.

I'm yet to see Mermaid offer anything but positive interaction here on this forum. My limited experience with you is the opposite.

Ditto. With the words and ways of thinking that you're posting here, I'm starting to think that maybe your ex you so lovingly refer to as a "crazy b!tch" wasn't all that crazy.

I will agree with his assessment of Football players. The majority I have known through my college years were douchebags with an IQ normally lower than their jersey #'s. Of course there are others that are very intelligent and cool guys. I would say that is the minority from what I have seen.

I will also agree about the majority of hot chicks being high-maintenance. Anyone who disagrees with that has not dated a hot-chick IMO.

Again, there are exceptions.

wow, that's the first time I've seen your new avatar. But it's not the first time I've seen a negative reaction to your posts.

May I suggest that you read the book "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnagie?

You come across as very harsh, unsophisticated, loud-mouth, and egotistical. I don't know you so I can't say that's who you are. But your posts definitely have those qualities about them.
