It has been a while since I have provided an up-date on my NSX. I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that I recently learned that one of my cylinders only has 95 PSI compression. The good news is that I just put down a deposit on a custom-engine that is currently being built. The new motor is projected to generate 450 RWHP using my existing Comptech Supercharger. The motor is actually designed to generate over 650 RWHP with a turbo system, but 450 is more than enough for this old fart. In addition to giving me more horse power, which will help give me more speed on the straights and out of the turns, the down time will be really short compared to if I were to have my current motor re-built. The new motor will be installed in late January, just in time for the first AROSC Time Trial track event of the 2018 season. The new motor specs are as follows:
• Custom 3.2 Motor Built by Applied Motorsports & COZ:
• 3.0 Block bored to 3.2 with Closed Deck Darton Sleeves
• 3.2 Crank
• 3.2 Titanium Rods
• Wiseco Pistons, 93mm
• Cometic Head Gaskets
• Rotating Assembly Balanced and Blueprinted
• New WP, TB, Tensioner, Gaskets & O Rings.
• Custom Intake Manifold
• Injector Dynamic Injectors
• Large Capacity Baffled Oil Pan
• Over-bored Throttle Body
• Custom built heads:
• 3.2 valves
• Stoptech Springs & guides
• Ported and Polished
The other mods to be installed along with the new motor include an intercooler, oil cooler and a standalone ECU. I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this work.
