That joke is hilarious!!!!

Geesh, I thought I was having a bad year.

Thanks for helping put my life into perspective! Truly sorry to hear of your loss and troubles, I wish you and your family the very best in getting back up and running.

Take care!

Church's, Popeye's, KFC. Who gives a rat's a$$!! I'd put any of them up against Fran's Chicken any day of week.

Uh, okay I guess.

I lived in Boulder and there was a Jack in the Box on the corner. Remember the e-coli episode? Needless to say that Jack in the Box was closed in a few months, never to return.

I always wonder what horror the food has gone through before it reaches my mouth.:frown:

Down right scary

Yes I remember that. That Jack in the crack building is now a wok and roll.

it was a joke people.

And a poor one at that.......Erick, how did you like it the way people "joked" at your immature handling of the situation when the person leaned against your NSX at the night club? Off Topic or not, the joke in this thread is very shallow.

To the rest of you (Left, Queen, BTW Left you have no right profaning at me with your "WTF" comment, ok?) that jumped down my throat, I will respond to you tomorrow.

Malibu got it right from my perspective.

Tomorrow morning I will read this thread word-of word. If I have erred, I will be the first to publicly drop my pants for a PRIME ass whipping. We will see about thirteen or fourteen hours from now.

What really "bothers" me is that there is a person that posted to this thread, whose race-religion has been at the sharp end of the sword since the days of ancient Persia, yet he sees humor in the original post, which was obviously founded on race.

Andy - you don't need to "respond to me tomorrow". You obviously have no sense of humor, are extremely curmudgeonly, and seem to take great pleasure in contributing to the overall decline of the tone on NSX Prime by bashing other posters. Every post you contribute criticizes someone or something. If you are seriously offended by a "WTF", perhaps you should stop frequenting the internet entirely. You don't like it when people "jump down your throat", but I believe you took the first trachiotomy trip with your initial reply to this thread. Get over it.

One of the local television stations in South Louisiana aired an interview with a woman from New Orleans. The interviewer, a female reporter from a Boston affiliate, asked the woman how such total and complete devastation of the churches in the area had affected their lives.

The woman replied, "I don't know about all those other people, but we get our chicken from Popeye's".

The look on the interviewer's face was priceless.

The race of the women is nowhere stated in the above text, so it's interesting that the mere mention of fried chicken causes some readers to jump to the conclusion she was black - and then get pissed about it!

It didnt bother me at all. I actually laughed at some of them. If it was you or anyone else, i would have told your ass the same. I didn't see it as a racial joke. If it was, then it'd be a different story. For all we know the woman being interviewed coulda been filipino.

BTW..I love fried chicken with plain white rice and ketchup!

A big AMEN to SndSoul he hit it right on the head!!...I love the part about CNN!! the lies and reality coloring they do is criminal at best.....

And as for YellowRose and any others that ...automatically Knee jerk react to think that everything is "racial" ...get a life!....nowhere in that story did it say the person was of any certain race or color....it just said that the person was more concerned about fast food than about religion....

when I first read the joke/story ..I thought ..huummm that was a silly joke...I didn't even think about anybody's race until later in the thread when somebody brought it up...until then I had no idea why YellowRose was so annoyed by it,...so that says to me that YellowRose is far more "Racist" than me because I never even considered anybody race till then...

You've got no clue!!! Everyone that lives in the south is not poor and everyone that got effected by Katrina was certainly not. You are a prime example of the type of person who believes everything cnn tells you without a shred of reality. The media made a huge issue out of the poor people of New Orleans, but its mostly the poor that got the most money from FEMA and MEMA, Red Cross, ect. And you know what they are doing with it... Blowing it on nonessentials like car audio, video and wheels, to name a few that I have first hand dealings with. Then they complain that they dont have anywhere to live:rolleyes: I lost a business, a building, two cars, part of my roof on my house, damage to the inside of my house, got looted twice and on and on. You know what I recieved from the govt.....NOTHING. I have insurance and my income level prevents me from recieving any benifits! I qualify for an SBA loan, but because I have excellent credit I get the 6.8% rate instead of the 2% rate that the bad credit, high risks applicants get??? Whose getting the shaft, the poor, I dont think so. The poor in this area have never had so much money as they do now. The only people mad, are the ones that have blown their money and are poor again.

Sorry for the rant and thread hijack, but I cant stand to see that BS point of view.

I'm sorry, I gotta post.
You bragged about those people using their debit cards in your shop, when you knew they were supposed to be used on food. You stated to us in chat that you didn't care, that you were taking the cards...

Now you are on here stating your disdain for those same people. Yet you say you never benefited from the relief funds... WTF You are being very Hypocrytical...

Deedub, you know your post was nothing close to this tame.. I know it has been deleted, but it is still vivid in my mind...

Church's chickens are in good and Bad neighborhoods.
I know one that in with a 1/2 mile of at least 60-75 2-3million dollar homes... There are also 2 on Martin Luther King drive in East St. Louis, IL.
You can get robbed on that street. I never have and My office is On that street.. NSX, Ferrari, any thing else that is parked there on any given day or night, They have never been messed with... Now there are some other MLK St. and BLVDS.. That the Joke applies to, Malibu.

I think I know what YR thought was being implied, Not speaking for him, but I don't think he realized that this was a supposed report... Buy the way I laughed My ass off as well.. I didn't take it as racist or anything like that. It was just funny.. It can be taken as a negative if it was presented as a negative.(Which it was not)

Some of the responses here are funnier than the joke/quote/ whatever it was..

Man prime really sucks now...

If you were waiting for me to post then you obviously have not gotten past it..

I have never been blocked by it, but I will never forget what you posted, simply because I remember the looks of a few kids faces that happened to see it...

I deal with idiotic stuff like that everday, it's easy for me to see who means what, that is why I know that it is still funny to you. I really couldn't care if it is or not, as long as you know that it was/isn't to me and a lot of other people that were itching to meet you...

Anyhoo.. gotta go, Church's sounds good, Nah maybe I will get some White Castle's with Harold and Kumar....

If you notice in my post I said they were "blowing their money". I think its a huge waste of government resources to allow people to use FEMA money for anything other than what it was intended--Food and Shelter, but you are correct, I did say "Thank God for irresponsible people" because they are keeping whats left of my business alive and thriving in this difficult situation. If they want to waste the money they have from the government to fix their houses on goods in my store, your damn right I'm selling them something. If I dont my competitors will. Dont think for a second that if I make a stand and say" I'd rather go broke than take FEMA money" that everyone else will follow suit. With that mindset I would be closed before Christmas. This is a dog eat dog world and I'm trying my best not to be lunch. Hypocritical, maybe; Surviving a shitty situation.... You bet:cool:
And for the record, I have only taken one debit card, the rest has been cash, amazingly enough, everyone has $2000.
I guess you really cant get a grasp of whats going on around here unless you are here. If you are open you are very busy. If you dont have a job, its because you dont want one. Every place has a now hiring sign up(including mine). The government is funneling alot of money to this area and everywhere you go you see the people spending like it will never run out. I have so many customers that are living in tents, yet spending thousands on audio equipment. There are two really big fields locally that have a reported 50000 flooded cars on them, truly a sight to see in person. I took a drive down the beach for the first time today since the storm, there truly is nothing but slabs left. I am going to take video of it tomorrow for my scrapbook and I'll post a few pics. Total devestation of a once thriving casino row and beachfront.:frown: My gulfport store is 3/4 mile from the beach and I am amazed that it is still there when I look at everything around me. To put in perspective, my store is two blocks north of this pic

As do I. As it comes from the tax payers. I also disdain those that are claiming not to Benefit when they are just as wrong as those that are spending the funds irrationally.. I say irrationally because I don't think a stereo or entertainment is the sustenance that people need to insure there very survival. It may very well satisfy some people's hunger, however I think long teerm they will eventually be hungry. So the cycle will just be one of repetition...

but you are correct, I did say "Thank God for irresponsible people" because they are keeping whats left of my business alive and thriving in this difficult situation.

That and the fact that you were fortunate/resourceful/Driven enough to provide for yourself and your business. IE: insurance and other safety nets... Not mad at you for that, that is what you are supposed to do. I am glad that you made it out of the Blackest hours.

If they want to waste the money they have from the government to fix their houses on goods in my store, your damn right I'm selling them something.

I would expect nothing else. But your posts contradict your actions. You are benefiting big time.. (Your Words not mine)

If I dont my competitors will. Dont think for a second that if I make a stand and say" I'd rather go broke than take FEMA money" that everyone else will follow suit.

Again, go look at my posts after the Katrina Catastrophe.I predicted what was going to happen, as far as the shop owners doing a lil looting and fleecing of their own.

You are the one posting about not getting anything having it hard, but you stated (In Chat) how things were booming from the many debit card sales... I posted the same type of response in Chat, do you remember?

With that mindset I would be closed before Christmas. This is a dog eat dog world and I'm trying my best not to be lunch. Hypocritical, maybe; Surviving a shitty situation.... You bet:cool:

I have no doubt that you will. Survive, that is.
You said it again, they have more $$$'s now than they ever had... 2k is 2k, I am not telling you not to do business, because those people have the right to spend their money on the same stupid stuff they were buying before the Hurricane, It's just funny to here someone boast about coming up in a situation and state no benefits within the same time frame.

Dog eat Dog, I really love the fact that portion of tax dollars are pushing 12s, 16s, 18s whatever, and it's all good to those involved.. I will rest at ease that I my tax dollars are being exploited by the poor and only the poor.

And for the record, I have only taken one debit card, the rest has been cash, amazingly enough, everyone has $2000.

Again, you stated how many people were using their cards in your shop, and how you were more than happy to take them.. You were a victim of the Hurricane, that is true and sad in that respect, However, you are contradicting yourself big time with the different posts.

Very hypocritical!!! Not to judge you life or living arrangement, but you post like you've been suffering:frown: . You have insurance, have business coming and going and are purchasing a new car on Fri? You made it sound like you lost everything and have to move from New Orleans:eek: . When you were upset about looting was it a dog-eat-dog world? I actually felt bad when people posted saying they hadn't heard from you. Your business is alive and thriving because of what and who??? Did you have to move from New Orleans and regroup? Nope. How shitty was your situation????? Not to bad, guessing you got compensated for some of your losses. Do you have any idea what it's like to be poor? Mostly how would you handle the situation if you had nothing in the beginning and REALLY don't have anything after the hurricane????? When people come to your shop and get an new stereo, do you ask if it was FEMA money? Did you tell your insurance co, "i really didn't get hit too bad, just give me 3k and that will be enough." Don't confuse irresponsible with miseducated. Don't thank GOD for irresponsible people, thank GOD that you got a pass and got lucky on a few things in this life. If the rules were the same for everyone this world, it surely would be a different place for the majority. Some of us never did get that "40 acres and a mule."

Maybe you misconstrued this comment to mean debit cards
Though my store looks like Bosnia, my business is amazingly busy! We now except cash, visa, M/C and FEMA I'll let you know how good my insurance coverage is in a few weeks.
I did a search because, although I remember joking about the cards in chat, I didnt remember ever posting that I was taking them. Thats because I honestly have only taken one since the storm and it was a red cross card. I think all of the FEMA cards that were handed out(they only gave out 10000) went to the NO people that went to Houston and Atlanta?
But again, if someone came in and wanted to use their FEMA card, I would take it. As you said it is their stupidity to waste their money on nonessentials. I can see your point of view though, so....Peace

No. I and you know exactly what you said and I responded then as I have responded here. So there was no misconception involved. You stated about how much business you were doing and how you had taken the cards that had come into your shop...
Anyway, I don't wish to pucnh that point any further, because you are doing the business that you were doing before the Hurricane, and there is nothing wrong with that.. Just wanted to clear up what I felt were contradictions.

People feel that CNN overly stated the plight of the poor and it had/has them fuming...
No one batted an eye about this BS that was going on.
You were talking about not getting Benefits, this is one of the reasons why...

Look at these Government hand outs...

The government's $5 billion effort to help small businesses recover from the Sept. 11 attacks was so loosely managed that it gave low-interest loans to companies that didn't need terrorism relief _ or even know they were getting it, The Associated Press has found.
And while some at New York's Ground Zero couldn't get assistance they desperately sought, companies far removed from the devastation _ a South Dakota country radio station, a Virgin Islands perfume shop, a Utah dog boutique and more than 100 Dunkin' Donuts and Subway sandwich shops _ had no problem winning the government-guaranteed loans.
Dentists and chiropractors in numerous cities, as well as an Oregon winery that sold trendy pinot noir to New York City restaurants also got assistance.
"That's scary. Nine-11 had nothing to do with this," said James Munsey, a Virginia entrepreneur who described himself as "beyond shocked" to learn his nearly $1 million loan to buy a special events company in Richmond was drawn from the Sept. 11 program. "It would have been inappropriate for me to take this kind of loan," he said, noting that the company he bought suffered no ill effects from Sept. 11.

OK Paul Wall...You couldnt be any further off.
First: I was not always well off to start. My business only started doing well about 4 1/2 years ago. Before that I was broke and I didnt grow up well off either. I have worked since jr high and paid my own way through college. I worked(still am)my ass off my whole life, there is no gravy train here and those that know me will tell you I do not sit idol.
Second: I dont live in NO. I live in Gulfport,MS. Where Katrina actually hit. Katrina only grazed NO.
Third: I have recieved $0.00 money from any insurance or government assistance. I am working off of the money that I had saved up until my insurance HOPEFULLY pays. My Bay St Louis store only had renters insurance and I recieved zero coverage on that location because it was flooded. It is a total loss and will not be reopened. And yes, I have said several times that "I really didnt get hit that bad compared to others in my area" on prime, to my friends and family and to my insurance.
Fourth: I have never tried to imply that I have lost any more than what I actually lost. I have even supplied pics of my loss.
Fifth: I have asked several customers their reasoning for buying equipment from me instead of fixing a residence. Several have answered"All I have left is this car and I want to make it as nice as possible right now". Its an odd reasoning, but it works for them I guess.
Six: I thank God for EVERYTHING that I have been blessed with every night.

I invite you to come stay at my house(I'll supply meals too, my treat) for a week to see what it is really like. You can sleep in the room where the ceiling fell in from my roof coming off. Or you can sleep on the couch with one of my employees who is staying with me right now b/c he has nowhere to live.

40 acres and a mule????? Give it a rest!
