Just put on today. Fully functional if only to keep my engine bay cool. Though I haven't gotten used to not being able to see directly behind me. :frown:

congrats, but not my style-- makes it look like a track car (unless you DO track it) removes the streetable look IMO, but its nice if you like it

also , question: how well do you think air actually goes DOWN the hole, I know when you watch the "airstream" on a car in a windtunnel it seems to go over the roof and then down a bit which would enter the hole of the sirduct you installed- but how much actually enters that area....

An R wing would really compliment it IMO. But looks good nonetheless. What happened to your front splinter? I recall you had it on before.

Bryan!
Whens the cosmetics upgrades goign to start ??

Looking good as always!
Can't wait for the body project.

Close up pics of the install would have been nice and even though it is a functional vent IMO when you have too many vents it makes the car look ricey.

The Type R wing is actually on it's way. I guess the lexan hatch got shipped by a faster UPS truck. As for the front splitter, I gave it to Factor X. It's actually functional and they could use it on their track car. I wasn't going to need it anymore because...

Lol! I said the same thing when I was taking the pictures. It does look kind of funny right now, but only because the car is a work in progress. I have a full widebody kit that I'm working on right now (that's why I got rid of my front splitter.) And I may consider relocating my intercooler there. ESPRIT1 did it and gained about 20 hp. When all is done, the hatch should fit in much better, much more JGTC style. And speaking of widebody...

I'm prep'ing your bumper and spats now (I bought Nico's replica front bumper and rear spats). I've already got the wide rear fenders and I've got the wide fronts on order. I went with the Version 2's!!! I think this project will start in the spring. I hope to be done and ready by the summer!

Brian,

Nice addition. I'm sure it looks much better at street level rather than from above. Hmmmm... ALL BLACK WIDEBODY NSX. Should look menacing as hell on wheels. Congrats!

Danny

I second (or is that third?) the Type-R wing... they compliment each other. But now you have a roof scoop, expect 70% of NSX owners to disapprove or go quiet on what they think about your car...

good on you for doing what you want to do to your baby. :)

Where is you IC now, rear valence? I thought you were running air/liquid IC. The hatch looks great, will look even better once your widebody is complete and a big IC is mounted just below it. Is that the DF hatch, how is fitment, installation ect?

Nope, air-to-air. Factor X wanted to put a water cooled system because the Vegas ambient gets really high, but I just wanted to keep it simple. Right now my intercooler is underneath the engine tucked in right behind the exhaust. It does soak up a lot of heat from the engine and exhaust so it's probably not the most ideal location but its really nice having everything tucked away. If you were to give my car a quick glance, it would be hard to tell I'm running boost at all.

The hatch is SOS. Fitment was great. Although it took three people to install it, the entire process took 30 mintues. We only had to re-align once and it fit perfectly.

I wonder if with the heat rising you could keep a hamburger warm while having a cookout.....hmmm....maybe I need one. :D

Get use to it. With your WHP, whats behind you isn't important.......

Updated picture. I got a Type R wing and it seems to better balance the car now with the rear hatch scoop.

Looking good. Can't wait to see your Wide-Body.........

Best Regards
Paul

ha that actually looks pretty good =)

cars looking good! I like the hatch but im not crazy about giving up the rear visibility. I wonder if a regular lexan hatch could be modified with horizontal vents like the f40's hatch?

did you paint the hood?

I was wondering the same thing. The CF looks like a much lighter shade in the earlier pictures... or is it just the sunlight playing tricks with the camera?

Vega$ NSX, are you planning on getting the CF engine hatch duct garnish?

I was wondering about the hood. I Think its just in the shade!
