Although there is obvious touching up and shading, this looks like the real deal. What do you think? I believe it is, although it's the NSXR. I like the new front bumper. Even if they are not real pics, I would bet this is what the restyle will look like... although maybe without the carbon fiber for the standard model. Looks like the hood has some sort of scoop as well.

<g> Ilya,

Just 30 secs ago received that from the list, and you already got it on the forum..........

I think i like that rear spoiler!

Although I'll bet this is identical or very close to what the final one looks like, I can tell that was definitely touched up. On the front view, you can see the lower lights covered up (smeared over).

Even though we don't know for sure that this is the official reskin, I like it. I predictied that the headlights would most likely be a simple replacement and that's what it looks like. Furthermore, the front bumper cover and spoiler look great.

I think that I may do an update to my '94 if this is what the re-skin will look like.

Ok, line forms behind me, everyone take a number! Let's see: older NSX of your choice, Taitec exhaust, Baschboost blower, update headlights, bumper cover, and hood, maybe new rear wing. Result? Suhweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

This is very similar to what Mistubishi did with the 3000GT. They just replaced the pop-ups with enclosed headlights and restyled the bumper covers. It makes much more sense to do it this way because with a new NSX coming out shortly why waste R&D funds.

BTW LeMans, the line starts behind me.

I'm still not into this retrofit...I don't like these "modern" headlamp designs...and the tacked on wing (I hope only on the NSX-R) just doesn't do it for me.

The redesign does look like a touch-up, but the Headlights do look sweet. I do have a slight gripe with the rear spoiler though. If the spoiler wing was matched up to the height of the ends, instead of having the notched-end look, would have been better (Course thats my opinion). Add a Le-Mans wide rear fender look, and there you go! (I cant put up a pic of the Le-Mans NSX's, but if you want a glimpse of it let me know)

Erm..how do you put pictures in here anyways?

For those new headlights to work, I would bet it requires the new front bumper as well... maybe even the new hood depending on the design. I would not mind, as if I chose to do the front, I would do the whole thing anyway, lights, bumper and hood.
I'll have to see the rear spolier in person before I'm sold on that, but I do like the front.
I think the built in headlights look better in person, just like the F360.

I think this looks sweet. Definitely a lot better than what I expected. Especially after seeing some of the Photoshop jobbies. The headlights look cool but the front bumper is awesome. I would switch bumpers pretty quickly if the total cost is somewhere south of $4 bazillion dollars. Good job on the looks Honda! But couldn't you stroke a few more ponies out the engine. Please?!

I guess I'm just retro, but I really like the flip-up lights on wedge shaped cars, I guess thats why I also like Lotus's, F355s, and slant-nosed 911s. I dont understand why everyone thinks that it's a "dated" look.

Having said that, the pics look rather nice and I'm relieved that the wing is calmer than the previous "preview" photos. One thing I'm curious about is how the new higher wing will affect the already slim view out the back. It seems like it will nicely bisect the rearview window, making the gap even smaller.

That could be your new plate! Look at this way better than a halibut.

Nice update I would say. But notice it is not a NSX, but NSX-R. Which means:

1) this exact car will likely never make it outside of Japan.

2) A tuned down version ala Zanardi "may" be available in America.

3) A limit edition model always signals a major redesign, or end of a model.

I'm totally with you here. Growing up in the 80s, it just seemed like all the cool cars had the flip-up lights, and now its, passe.

That's just too bad. In my world, a sports car is low to the ground, is wide, has a sharp wedge, and has flip-up lights.

I think the NSX look is the epitome of these ideas, incredibly executed. For all those that think the look is dated, I just don't get it, and I don't think the onlookers that gawk at the car no what they are talking about either.

Just my 0.02.

Can't say I like any of the changes, manata ray, catfish, whatever. And I too appreciate pop-up lights. "Dated" is about fashion, the NSX is as nearly timeless ans any car I've seen.

I'm suddenly very insterested to know about the OEM tires. Will they come in new sizes? Probably not, but we can hope.

I don't know if it's because the headlights are paired up with the hood scoop but the whole front looks odd. Also, the spoiler doesn't look stock at all. I would like the thinner headlight approach that Honda did in their concept drawing.

Interior looks gorgeous though.
