Living In Arizona

I'd trade a 113 degree Arizona day for my 98 degree Mississippi day anytime. They are both hotter than Hell, but here you sweat just looking out the window

I can back that up. I lived in Jackson, MS in '98-2000, and it is unbelievably hot down there. I had a triple black Infiniti J30t and I literally bonded my skin to the interior door sill on a 102 degree day. The little chrome strip burned me, and the vinyl actually stuck to my skin. It's the same in the winter down south. I've been in "dry heat" as well as "dry cold" and let me tell you, 20 degrees in MS is equal to -10 in Utah. When I was younger, I always used to wonder why in the hell these people (Northerners on TV) would wear shorts while hiking in the snow? Now I know, it's not really the temp, so much as the relative humidity.

BTW, SNDSOUL, where in MS are you? Do you know Hal Smith (owner of Audio Advantage) in Columbus? He's a great guy. I'll be down that way this weekend for a wedding.

The very first house on the list is about a mile away from me. The pictures don't do it any justice. The house is an easy 3000 square feet. There is also three heated workshops with 2 phase electric that come with the house. I think there is a few acres of land too. Although I have a Cortland mailing address I actually live in Dryden, NY. Cortland is a sh!thole. I don't even own any rentals in Cortland county because it is so bad. All the rentals I own are in Tompkins or Cayuga county.

I live in one of the better areas of Dryden. House around here go for 300-500k and come with 2-5 acres of land.
Check this place out for 1.45 million it is directy across from my lake house...really nice house for 1.45M

You were actually awake and hiking at that time in the morning!!! Must be nice, I was already at work!

LOL Heather. I was thinking the EXACT same thing.

Those of us in Phx and Tucson endure the summer heat in order to be able to plan LARGE parties in October, like NSXPO. Should be in the 80's then.

Comeon' now, it's not fair to base an Arizona review on July/August weather. That's like talking about how bad the weather is in Montana in December or Mississippi... year round.

What about Sept - May... nice!

Believe me, 85+ degrees with high humidity feels A LOT worse than 115 degrees dry. Although I do agree that 3rd degree burns suck big-time - try not to fall asleep outside .

IMO, the only people with a hand up on AZ weather are Southern California residents - and even they like it here in the winter.

Unfortunately I have no idea where you can afford a house out here for $275,000 anymore; this state is really becoming unaffordable! If you want more than 2000 sq. ft. in a nice tech neighborhood, you better be willing to pay $400,000+. Luckily I got in early, but we're (my finance and I) are looking to move soon to a bigger house; the ones were looking at are WELL over half a million (read: $600,000++) for ~ 3000 sq. ft. ; on second though, I HATE it here !

Has anyone ever read the cold weather version of this with the guy and the snow shovel?? It is so funny you may fall off of your chair. :D
