Tires are obviously something that all of us regularly purchase. It would be nice to have a hyperlinked list of, say, the top 10 tire vendors with member opinions on service and delivery. If this was located in the FAQ it would be easy to click-through and find the best price for those that are comparison shopping. The added benefit is that many of these vendors also sell rims, which is also a frequent upgrade/purchase item. I couldn't find such a list in the FAQ or on a quick search through the archives. Do we have something like this and/or is there a reason we don't have it??

Here is a list of tire vendors that I know of. Please feel free to add to this list. I have not yet had to replace my tires, so I can't comment on service/delivery issues.

(1) Tire Rack: www.tirerack.com
(2) Tread Depot: www.treadepot.com
(3) Online Tires: www.onlinetires.com
(4) Just Tires: www.justtires.com
(5) Tires.com: www.tires.com.

Regards.

I don't think vendors 2 through 4 get a whole lot of sales nationwide, and any data is likely to be spotty. A lot of folks use Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct (a.k.a. Discount Tire, and tires.com). In my experience, both have excellent prices and excellent customer service.

A tire company I have dealt with for more than 30 years should be added to the list. They are local, though, and not a mailorder/internet operation. The company is Radial Tire Company in Silver Spring, MD. They have a great reputation in the Washington, DC/Mid-Atlantic area for competition cars, autocross, gymkana, and high performance vehicles, and at one time they were the go-to solution for the dreaded front wheel shimmy problems on BMW 3-series cars. They also do lots of daily drivers, mama-mobiles, and other plebeian rides, so their volume is high enough to offer excellent prices along with their excellent service. They will soon be fitting a set of Dunlop Star Specs on my 1991 stock-wheel NSX. Couldn't recommend them any higher!

Nice, I'm down in Maryland often... Maybe I'll check them out next time.

In Pittsburgh, I've been happy with highland tire for my dd, but went to mcb autosport for my NSX.
