How do I know if my car is running on limp mode...?

I have abs and tcs lights on which i am looking into the cause.

Thanks

Id say it is, sometime when my check engine light is on I notice Im not boosting up like it normally would. I disconnect the battery and Im ready to play. PM Larry Bastanza, he would know for sure.

hmm this sounds similar to the problem Im having...

Check engine light and TSC light is on at the same time... gas milage and performance seems to be reduced.... what could this be?

And why does the NSX run in "limp mode"?

Limp mode maybe a way for the engine to play safe by pumping more fuel.

ABS and TCS on at the same time is normally a bad wheel sensor. Limp mode normally refers to a serious ECU problem that keeps it from having good control of the engine.

the ABS light isn't on... its the Check Engine Light and TSC light is on.. taking it to the dealer today to have it diagnosed. I hope its nothing serious.

Sounds like the infamous primary oxygen sensore heater failure - my '96 just did that yesterday. I pulled the code (using the procedure in the NSX Prime FAQ section), & got a 42 -- rear primary O2 sensor heater failure. I then checked the sensor, and guess what - the heater section is open instead of being 10 to 40 Ohms.

Note that mine did not go into the limp mode, at least as far as I could tell. I could still pull high revs with no noticeable difference in power from previous days.

On a very cold day in January mine also kicked out the same code, but an ECM reset (pull clck fuse for 10 seconds) cleared the code. This time, it permanently failed.:frown: Time to go collect on the extended emissions warranty.
