like to street race?

But Queens we all know that was with spectaters.I do all of my freaky testosterone pissed off street racing on closed roads, under construction with the permission of the governor,,,blah blah:rolleyes: Of course we are preaching to the choir,,but if we can disuade one person from doing this then heck,I'll put up with our pro street racing crowds crapola.Besides the ultimate reward for pushing your luck on the street could be a life of wheelchair racing if you're lucky.Sermon over.

I'm hearing that the car that crashed was a white Crown Vic, which sounds suspiciously like an undercover police car. Can anyone confirm?

why was there a 61 year old man with his daughter and grand daughter gathered around watching a street race for? Shit, I'm only 26, and I avoid those types of situations like the plague when I have my daughter with me.

I heard the same and thought the same. However, how many people buy up the old, used CV police cars and drive them around trying to LOOK like police cars.
Either way, that is a horrible accident.
If you are out that late at night attending that type of event then I don't have any sympathy for those that get hurt or killed.

Definitely a tragedy, but I would not go so far as to say that they don't deserve sympathy or "got what they deserved". Little harsh. It could have just as easily been a bunch of boy scouts out playing capture the flag at night, or some bystanders attending to a hit pet, or a stranded family attending to a mechanical.

That said, yes in principle- the drag race is inconsequential in this instance. Their is no law against public gathering night or day. If you stand in the middle of the road or cross a highway late at night and get hit, that's your own fault.

I haven't heard of anything like that before. It will be interesting to hear the fall-out. If an officer hits someone late at night outside of a cross walk and "couldn't see him" they get off everytime no questions asked.

I know of a few car forum's where the slightest mention of 'street racing' get's you banned permanently no matter what your intention is.
And thats really not a bad thing. Seems every street race topic started turns into an forum brawl amongst members.

Alot of forum's do not realize the the legal risk of allowing street racing in any form on their website, I have owned a car website so I know what I'm saying. Basically street racing storie's should be left to the kid's on MySpace and to email's. I have seen far to many negative and disgusting result's from street racer's and dont want this great forum to be a victim of supporting even the reference of street racing.

Anyone who even post the slightest reference to street racing should be banned imho.

I'm not so sure about that. Lately it seems that street racing gets more and more support on this forum by a younger and younger demographic. Pity.

agreed.

While I think that is a little harsh, a warning or two should be done to newbies(based on either time or post count) or suspension to long time members who should know better.
