As you may have seen the CHP are using a new speed detection device called LIDAR. It uses a laser to pinpoint your car and your speed usually from an overpass/bridge. They then have cops on the shoulder pull you over. Man, have to trade in the NSX

I watched that segment too. They'd been running the teaser for days, so I thought that I would try to catch it to see what the deal was.

Then they said LIDAR. I said, "LIDAR???" I guess the new "technology" is the man standing on the bridge. :D

Hmm, I knew laser was used for years but thought the technology had improved. Funny though, had a guy say that "it was all a big misunderstanding, I was just wanting to pass a car"

When are they going to raise the speed limits to a reasonable level for the technolgy in todays cars????? Money grab!!!

No kidding...75-80 mph should be about right for the freeways. I know some main streets that are still 30 mph..totally ridiculous for that stretch of road. Nothing but income from tickets there.
