Leather seat pictures

Are these all letherseat.com kits?

Who makes this it looks OEM. The fit is excellent! Is it the installer that makes the difference. Some kits look like crap and others look like better then the originals.

Yes those are from leatherseats.com - thats very close to what I'll be getting...

Minus the perforation :) no suede for me either.

They sell you a kit, and you have to either take the leather covers off (after removing the seats from the car of course) then put on the new ones... from what I understand it takes a while for the leather to shrink onto the surface of the seats... once thats done it looks OEM! :D

I'm not a big fan of the perforation on the center inserts either, but I got my leatherseats.com seats with perforation on the booster areas only. They look great.

They give a little more texture and subtle enhancement without over doing it.

My seats are black with red center inserts. Booster areas are black with perforation. Head rest is also black . The door inserts are red with OEM wrinkle effects (to do this, you need to sew the sides of it while bunching it. OEM inserts are sewn this way too). To be honest, I'm not a fan of the red door inserts. I wish I didn't do it.

Mine was done by a local shop here in SoCal. The leather used is similar to the kind used in a Lexus. It's alot less grainy and softer than leatherseat.com's material. I've seen leatherseat.com's covers and they look very thick and some doesn't conform very well to the seats. No wrinkles anywhere here. The perf. suede holds you in place very well compared to just leather which lets you slide all over. Plus, it doesn't burn your butt when it heats up in the sun. BTW, the Zanardi NSX seats are the exact same way as these are.

I believe it takes some time for the leather to shrink to fit the seats tighter over time... Thats what I've heard and I hope its true when I buy my covers! :D

Does anyone have a previous Tan interior that has been altered? Looking for ideas for my red/tan. Of course my dash, center console and 3/4 of the doors are black.

Thanks all,
Chris

Hi

Here is my Leatherseats.com's. They are a lot better than these photos show. These pictures was taken just a few days after I fitted them

I will probably take a few new photos when the NSX is taken out of hibernation.

Guys just stumbled onto this thread and let me say a few things. I've had some experience since I did a complete re-upholster in my s2000 with yellow / black inserts.

1) Be careful to involve too much color - it may look neat at first but gets OLD FAST and too much color looks cheap in the long run. Those 2-tone interiors that have colored inserts everywhere looks like nothing but a cheap play toy. I regret doing my s2000 and later sold all of it to replace with my Bride seats in all black and did only tasteful black suede with yellow stitching.

(see the pics below for what I'm talking about so you know I'm not just pulling shiet out of you know where...haha)

2) Find a good installer since interior work is kinda like tint. Pay for cheap work and you will get even cheaper results.

3) I'm keeping my nsx interior all stock for now, it's absolutely mint and I love the feel and look of OEM Leather. I may get a new shift boot but that's about it.....

s2000 pics (notice how the yellow is over-done IMO) and my new interior in latter pics:

I just got mine done, I went with Black Perforated Alcantra for the center, it actually is more of a dark charcoal. Went with a local shop because I was concerned about fit. Thanks to everyone who posted, this thread was very helpful.

BTW: How do insert the pictures full size?

From what I can see so far in the posts, there are some pretty awesome looking seats and some pretty hideous looking ones too.......

If you guys are going to do this mod, please find an experienced installer! I had my s2000 seats done in yellow and totally not happy with how the leather wrinkles and just not "tight". I ended up selling them for some aftermarket Brides which are so more eye pleasing. This is the main problem with most aftermarket kits. The leather looks all beat up and "loose" and that just spells cheap and aftermarket

2002+ NSX owners have no reason to redo the leather - why mess with a good thing????

Most 2-tone jobs may look good initially but most end up looking cheap or toy-like after a while. I've done this a few times and subtle is definitely better than too much color IMO.

For my 04 NSX, the OEM seats are absolute MINT like the day they rolled off the showroom floor so I opted to replace them with Bride Stradia Sports in red for a bit more flash, more headroom, and most importantly to keep the OEM seats in the MINT condition they are right now :)

I'm still awaiting my passenger seat but this is what I did for my 2-tone:

I've been thinking about doing the same thing lately. My seats are torn and the leather is real shabby. I haven't really seen any recovers yet that looked great to me so i have been leaning towards going with after market seats but since i have never looked into after market seats before it seems like it might be some time before i find something i like that fits the NSX right.

It must be a seat that reclines or hinge like yours does in the pictures above but i don't like the exposed bracket look at all. Has anyone seen some seats like this that do a better job of hiding the hardware that make it recline?

I want something clean looking thats light weight yet still reclines, any suggestions?

Check the ones done by AdvansCPAP.com and mine. My photos are not great but you can still see how good the fit is, everyone talks about an installer but I think the best route to go is a custom made guy. The fit and result will be much better imo. I saw AdvansCPAP.com and never gave a second thought to going the recover direction. I paid about $1200 for mine counting doors and center console. Mine are full leather and I hand picked the hide. If you want the best result search for someone who has won adwards for street rods etc in your town.

BTW: The Alcantra is great, not as nearly as hot and it really holds you in the seat. It looks better in person than in the photos.

Hi

I am not sure if I know what 2-tone is. But I am think I know. 2-tone is 2 colours? I did not go two colour in my NSX.

I first thought that I would have red in the middle and the rest black. I am so happy that I got perforated black in the middle. Rest black with red double stitches and a black NSX logo in the headrest. Happy with black logo too with no red around the letters.

I have said so before. But I will take some new pictures this weekend and post here. The fit is a lot better now than at first. They are so sleek now.

I did most of the work myself and I am far from a professional. But the end result was really good. A lot more happy now after the leather has shrunk some and is tight.

Regards

I think most would agree that when not installed tight, leather with wrinkles doesn't look so good. The "2-tone is better than subtle" is a matter of personal taste.

The previous owner of my car chose the 2-tone colors and installer for my current seats. They have some of the looseness you're describing, which certainly bugs me. At first, I definitely did NOT like the 2-tone look, but it has grown on me somewhat over time. I don't like the red embroidery on the headrest either. If I was to do the job myself, I'd probably go with simple black with red stitching, although that still would not match the oem plain stitching on the dash and door panels. Otherwise, I'd go for the NSX-R style red seats and change the carpet to red to match.

With so many other mods yet to do, I'll be content to keep it as is for now.
