Lakers get Paul Gasol

+1

I am so happy that Brown is gone.......what a waste of talent.

The more I watched Kwame, the less talent I think he has. Great physical specimen but even I can shoot and catch passes better than him. Too bad I'm 5'7" and in my 40's:biggrin:

Waste of a good body more than good talent. He's still only in his 6th year and you cannot teach the athleticism and size that he has. His really bad play recently you can contribute partly to his injuries, anyone notice that he can't even jump now???

Lakers were playing well this year but this really puts them into the elite teams. Some writers are saying they have the best lineup already.

Been a Laker fan since the 70's through the good times and the bad times.

Not sure exactly how good of a trade this is, but compared to Brown, Gasol is a breath of fresh air. I just read an article that said they are now legitimate title contenders. I must be a pessimist because while I do see it as an improvement, I won't pop the champagne cork until they get there. Im thinking maybe contenders next year, give Jackson a year to get Gasol comfy with the Lakers offense and defense. But not this year.

I agree......next year.

Bynum won't be back till the regular season is nearly over and they probably won't have enough time to put it all together this year. Kobe should be pretty happy now.

The BIG 5: Andrew Bynum, Paul Gasol, Lamar Odom, Kobe Bryant, and Derek Fisher. I was hoping that the Lakers would get Ben Wallace though.

A friend of mine actually called me up to tell me the news, and I'm psyched about the trade. Should be real interesting once Bynum returns...

I had just spoken with family that I thought Kwame was getting traded before the deadline. And good riddance too. If you can't pass, shoot, or play defense, you should be playing a different sport.

On paper, the lakes should be good. But you never know how a team will gel.

Go Lakers! Does anyone know when Bynum is coming back? More than anything, I think Gasol's biggest contribution to the team would be his mentoring of our future league superstar center Bynum. Can't wait till Sasha plays on the court as well as he does in practice (they are adamant that he doesn't miss at all).
