KSP seats are made from wet carbon Kevlar, featuring a Kevlar pattern commonly found in Japan (which is a checkered pettern).I suspect the manufacturer for KSP is esqueleto. The QC sticker they use is the same from their other seats. In contrast, we source our weave (NSX-R weave) from outside Japan, import it, and craft it into dry carbon (prepreg). Left vs Right in the photos attached.
KSP seats weigh approximately 9kg with upholstery, meaning the shell alone is around 6–7kg. Our Type R seat shells, however, weigh under 3kg, and the fully upholstered seat weighs approximately 5kg.
The upholstery on KSP seats, to put it bluntly, is subpar and lacks comfort. For the price you're paying for it, you'd need to reupholster it to make it comfortable. This is an additional cost on top. cushions they use are of poor quality and beyond repair. Imagine cushions of cheap sofa.
In comparison, our cushions and fabrics are crafted using original NSX-R materials, including the authentic fabrics and urethane, ensuring that the ergonomics and seating comfort match the original NSX-R seats. Upholstered by the original NSX-R designers.
This is the key difference in quality, which is reflected in the price. If you're in Tokyo, we invite you to visit our office to see the dry carbon Kevlar shell and the premium fabrics we use firsthand.
