Khumo Tires vs. OEM

I'm using Khumo Supra in front and it works fine. I'm now gonna change to Falken Betas to put on my 16 x 7.5 front and 17 x 9.5 rear, any feedbacks on this tire? and what kind of wheel alignment needed? or simply keep stock alignment?

Thanks

Peter Cunningham hosted a tech session at the NSX event at Lime Rock Park this past Memorial Day weekend event.
He felt the most important mod on a car were the tires, stating that it is the only part of the car that actually touches the ground. He said it was no place to save money. One very good driver's opinion.
By the way I do use the Yoko Proxes but I'm no Peter Cunningham.

You mean "Toyo" Proxes, I think.

The tires I went with are the Khumo ECSTA 712 (225/45/16 & 255/40/17).

Can't sneak anything by you Ken!

The Kumho Victorracer V700s were fantastic on my brother's Toyota MR2 Turbo. Very grippy, predictable, moderate wearing, good in the rain. I will be getting a full set of these on my stock '92 and the price is good, $115 F/130 R. The big rain groove in the Kumho Ecsta series is not that useful here in California so the more rubber to the road - the better!

Toyo uses the "Proxes" name on many of its products - everything from its dragstrip tires (Toyo Proxes Drag Slick) and its track tire (Toyo Proxes RA-1) to its street tires (Toyo Proxes T1-S) and its all season tires (Toyo Proxes Z1, Toyo Proxes TPT, and Toyo Proxes FZ4) and its truck and SUV tires (Toyo Proxes S/T). If you're describing an experience with Toyo Proxes, you should specify which Toyo Proxes tire you're discussing.

The same thing is true with Bridgestone, which has many different models carrying the "Potenza" name.

The Kumho Victoracer V700 is an R compound tire designed for racetrack use. When used on the street, it will have many of the downsides common to track tires, including rapid wear, poor performance on wet roads, and high price. For example, compare the Kumho Victoracer V700 track tire with the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 street tire in the stock NSX front size. The treadwear ratings on these two tires are 50 and 340. That means that you can expect approximately one seventh

as many miles on the Victoracer V700 as you get on the Ecsta Supra 712. Yet the Victoracer V700 costs twice as much as the Ecsta Supra 712 ($115 vs $57 at the Tire Rack).

Kumho makes excellent track tires. But everyone I know who uses them, uses them only on the track, where those downsides are not important, and not on the street for everyday driving.
