key won't turn in open position

Has anyone seen this on their vehicles? Recently when I go to unlock my driver's side door, the key won't turn right. If I turn the key left, then right, then it will open. The key is not bent nor does it show any appreciable wear. It has always worked before until just recently. Last night it worked once, then went back to having to turn the key left before turning it right again. btw it's a '91 manual.

Yes, my 93 does that on occasion--not sure why, but I don't worry about it because it's infrequent.

K Thanks guys. Just didn't know if it was an electrical problem or what. Not a big deal since it WILL open, just a minor nuisance I'll have to live with until I have it checked out thoroughly.
