Keeping cats off my car!?

Put mousetraps under a sheet of newspaper if it's garaged. The snap will scare them... after a while you';ll just have to put the paper on when u get out. Faster than a car cover at least.

Fact - Cats hate water.
Fact - Cats hate moving things that startle them.
Fact - Cats hate sudden noises.

This has all three -

Yes , it will work , causes no damage to animal and is 100% humane.

Ultrasonic or other noise making devices do not work. Don't waste your money on them. Repellents like moth balls , rags dipped in ammonia , urines or liquid/granular commercially available products only work for a short period of time , need to be re-applied often and are costly.

Scat-Mats will work but you will need one each for the hood , roof and trunk

Also , a car cover will only protect your paint from the cat's feet but the claws can go through. Putting a cover on your car may actually make it more inviting to the cat , softer and less slippery than bare paint.

Best solution - a garage.

I have the scarecrow - we use it to keep deer off some of our plants. I could get another one I suppose - but I would have to aim in some way that the water didn't get on my car.

Thanks for the suggestion....

I'm cheap. Try putting several strips of cellphane tape sticky-side up on the car.
Do you get my drift here or do I need to spell it out for ya?

Just an update....

I bought one of the Ssscat devices....They are intended for indoor use but I put it on the stone ledge beside my NSX. Didn't get to drive the NSX much over the long Thanksgiving weekend so it sat for several days. Drove it this morning and no signs of any cat footprints on the car.

So far so good!

Hay guys, they are HIS cats.

Oh. Ok. Bear Trap then.

Or you could pay this guy to stand next to your car lol. DON'T OPEN AT WORK!

I had a cat that refused to stay off my car after 5 times I had enough...trapped him in my back yard and took him 60 miles into a wooded area and cut him loose..have not seen him since..HOPEFULLY a couger had supper

De-leg them:biggrin: (joke!!!i'm a cat lover)

They like your car 'cos it's warm after being driven. My cat would be sitting on the bonnet (CRX) or in the wheelwell by the time it takes you to blink. Little bugger.
