Katrina was bad, but we survived

I am using my phone so this will be short. As some of you know, I live in Gulfport,MS where Katrina hit directly. The damage is indescribable. Whats important is my family is all safe although several of them lost their houses completely and everything they own. I presently have 4 families living in my home and we have spent every day digging through rubble trying to find anything we can. My house suffered some minor damage compared to most, we lost the chimney and part of the roof over the forthcoming(soon) babies room. My Gulfport store did very well for its location, it only got 6 inches of flood waters(3/4 mile from the beach), but my store in Bay St Louis was completely destroyed. This area will be in ruins for a very long time. For now I am out of business, but after I we repair the store and power is restored I will try to reopen with a skeleton crew. Hopefully the market will be able to support me. I pray that the insurance companies and FEMA will cover people to rebuild as there are thousands that are homeless right now. Thankyou all for your support. I've been having Prime withdrawls.

The whoel subject has becom so hot, that's it's tough to comment for those of us not in it without some type of critism.

Regardless, it's great to know that your family is intact. Know that as far as I'm concerned, we're all standing with you. Hang in there.

Glad you and yours are safe.

Prayers from S. CA.

Counting my blessings here in the "other" St. Louis. Not a day goes by where I don't think, pray, and donate so that you all may someday be returned to "normal".

Be safe and don't worry about prime while you are gone. Here are the threads you missed:

"I have a snap ring problem, do you think Acura will cover it?"

"I saw an low mile 97 NSX on eBay for $7k, is this a scam?"

"Anyone know what this popping sound from my speakers is?"

"Looking at FI options - can everyone post a 2-3 page essay about each option they have ever heard about?"

"Here is my stance on politics, religion, civil rights, and abortion, don't you all agree (because you own an NSX like me!)?"

"Someone was looking at my exotic sports car while I was driving, what should I do?"

:)

Don't worry - we will keep the lights on for you!

FIRST of all, THANk YOu for writing to us to let us know you and your family are OK! That is the uptmost importance during times such as this. I went thru Hurricane Andrew and saw my family's business destroyed. But you seem to have a lot of LOVE for your family, and determination! , and YOU WILL be fine. I , as I am sure the rest of the board, are keeping you and your families in our prayers....

Glad to hear you are OK!

Best of luck with the recovery, please let me know if I can do anything to help. I think you have my cell #.

Hang in there!

So glad to hear that you and your family are safe. Please let us know if there's something we can assist you with.

Best Regards!

Brett,

Glad to hear from you. If you need anything personally, let us know but for everyone who was affected, let's all remember to donate to the Red Cross or Salvation Army. Again, a time to come together.

You forgot the "Dali ripped me off!" thread

Sorry, had to make myself laugh at a time like this. Thankyou all for your well wishes. Things seem to get better with every passing day, it's just hard decided where to start and what to do next.

everybody had summed up whatever I'm going to say.....

So... How is your nsx?? :) I'm also hoping your business will be well off again.
The NSX is fine, but I think it will be taking the back burner space for a while, there are waaay to many other things I have to take care of.

Brett, wish you the best in a time like this. We are trying to raise some funds from this month's chapter meeting. Honda America will do a 100% match for our donation to Red Cross.

Brett...

You were on my mind a lot since I heard the weather was coming your way, I am very glad to hear that you and your loved ones are safe and unharmed! I have been praying for you and all the other people out there! Thanks for taking the time to update all of us, its great to hear from you!

Thankfully your family is still with you; you're truly a blessed person. Lifestyle can be rebuilt, lives can not. My thoughts are with you during this time as you can only go up when you've hit rock bottom.
