Just heard this a little while ago watching the Philly/Atlanta game.
Don't know any details but it is sad to see him go.
True King of the late night talk shows.

RIP

"You people watching, I can only tell you that it's been an honor and a privilege coming into your homes all these years to entertain you. And I hope when I find something I want to do and think you would like, I can come back and [you will be] as gracious in inviting me into your homes as you have been. I bid you a very heartfelt goodnight."

My favorite gag was his Carnac the Magnificent: Two band-aids and cork, he said holding the answer card to his head. He tore open the envelope to read the question, "What are next years' bikini fashions?" I laughed so hard that it took a few minutes to realize that I had just heard about the dirtiest thing I would ever hear on TV!

I'll miss him.

Reminds me of another one: "Siss, boom, baa."

Tear open envelope.

"The sound a sheep makes when it explodes."

what a great way of putting it

Saw Leno last night giving a touching tribute to his mentor.
You can tell from his trembling voice and glassy eyes during his monologue how much he meant to him.

Dang it !! I wanted so bad to see that but fell asleep.
They also had a nice little piece on the world news about him.

what great memories i have of watching his shows over the years - tiny tim, steve martin, animal acts, jimmy stewart and his generation of performers....

what a funny and class act he was.
