An acquaintance of mine purchased this car several months ago from a seller in Utah but is now looking to sell. He was upfront with me and told me the previous owner told him that the car was in an accident where it hit a curb and the airbag deployed and was rebuilt. I ran the carfax report, it does show a salvage/rebuild from salvage title.

I found a thread here from Dec 2016 where a member in Texas was looking at it when it was for sale on cars.com in Utah. Another member had said in that thread that he drove it in 2015.

Does anybody have any other information on this vehicle or any advice for a prospective buyer?

Are the automatic versions as fun to drive as the manual?

I've also been told this is one of 6 that were made in deep blue/purple in '95, anybody know if there is any truth to this statement?

And the biggest question...what would be a fair offer?

The seller has it listed for $40k but I know in his head his bottom number is significantly less.

(1) Get a PPI from a reputable shop. I would also put the car on a frame jig to make sure the frame is straight.

(2) No

(3) Correct per the Wiki http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Production_Numbers

(4) Probably not $40k, but really depends on what is found from the PPI. As an owner you are going to have to deal with the salvage title when you sell. May end up taking a loss. Deja vu all over again.
