The whole concept of Intelligent Design is really bugging me lately.
The whole concept has no scientific proof. What do they think we are? STUPID? It is an insult to human intelligence for those who possess any scientific training.
How do you feel?

There are a multitude of issues involved here.

Whatever anyone thinks of intelligent design or our existence, intelligent design is religion, not science.

The problem is not that some people have a religious belief, but that they attempt to teach religion in a public school science class. That is simply wrong and should not be tolerated, whether you are a christian, muslim, athiest or agnostic. End of story.

I am confortable and intelligent enough to say that I don't have the answer. I am not going to make up an answer and pretend I was smarter.
Evolution is a theory with some supportive evidence. It is by no mean an answer.
To argue aganist the theory of evolution without any research results for ID is not science.

ID just isnt science, i'm not saying its BAD science, i'm saying its psuedo science.


the fact that new evidence cannot prove or disprove the theory
and the fact that the base theory is immutable. Also the claims are metaphysical and not provable with the scientific method, just my 2 cents.
whether its true or not is a different story, but as far as what the philosophy of science dictates, this does not fit the definition of science.

i tend to think that biblical creation and 'modern' evolutionary theory as NOT being mutually exclusive, there isnt any reason you cant believe both.
i'm sure the rabbi's that assembled the biblical canon 1500-2200 years ago are probably spinning in their graves at the literal interpretation we have today.
