Is upgrading to NSX-T worth it?

Need your help NSX-T owners! I currently live in So. Calif. and own a 93 Blk/Blk. I enjoy it very much, but living in Calif., I've always had a car with a sunroof to enjoy the good weather. Is it worth it to sell my hardtop to upgrade to a T? Have any owners out there done the same? Obviously I would have to pay more money for a 95+, so I'm trying to weigh the cost vs. enjoyment factor!

Thanks.

Hey C-dog, I live in SoCal, too. There is just something about taking a drive down the coast with the top off that is intoxicating and that's all it took for me to stick to the Ts when I bought my first NSX. Nothing against the hardtops but the removable top really adds alot to the enjoyment factor. I also think the car looks best with the top off. My friends always love riding with the top down, too.

I don't know if that makes it worth it for you to trade up but personally, I wouldn't buy a hardtop now unless I was going to track and race it more. And if I wanted to track and race more, I'd look at getting something other than an NSX for myself.

So short answer, for fun drives, the T rules. The extra $ will be well spent if you enjoy taking cruises. It could just be a small tradeup in price if your car's in good shape.

I was in the same boat as you were when making my decision. With all said and done, I went with the NSX-T. As the two posts above state, there is just something about driving down the PCH with the top off (NSX may help with other tops being off too  . . . sorry, just had to go there. haha) that is so intoxicating.

If you have to have the T is might be worth it. For me I have a 92 Coupe and it would only be worth it if it were a 97+ simply for the 3.2 and 6-Speed. Otherwise I really have no use for removable top in Hawaii :D I need to use the AC 24/7 so the top would stay on all the time aside for picture taking ;)

I live in Melbourne and while they weather is nice here, it ain't nothing compared to So Cal. And I love it. I waited for a long time to find a T here and I would not go back. There are compromises to make though, such as the rigidity of the chasis which you may feel at the handling limits because you are coming from a coupe.

But I think it is worth it. Not like a T is a dog around the curves ;)

Of course, this is a matter of personal preference. I think it's worth it for anyone who would really enjoy and take advantage of the ability to drive with the roof panel removed.

I think you just answered your own question. ;)

You're in California. Go for the T! if you can find say a 95-96 for a good price, it sounds like you've already convinced yourself you want the T
