Hey guys,
After reading some of tons of threads about what tranny fluid to use, I have decide that I will stick to Honda's MTF fluid I just want to meke sure the dunkey at the counter gave me the right thing.

Here is a pic of the fluid I just pick up

While the label style is different (see the picture from slamstrom), the wording matches the latest "white cap" MTF fluid in the US. And, the part number is identical, except yours has a "c" added at the end. That c probably either means Canada or that its 1L instead of 1 Qt.

So, its a pretty safe assumption you have the latest & greatest Honda MTF.

Looks exactly what I purchased from Acura here in Canada.
p/n 08798-9031C. It has a Honda Canada label on the back
"Honda Canada Inc. Toronto ON, M1B2k8"

The parts guy at Acura told me this is the same, but more money.

I just serviced mine with the Amsoil. So far soooooo good.

You need to get the newest formula...at the Acura store, these bottles have White covers.

I'm not sure if the Cover's on the Honda bottles have the same "white cover" to differentiate the newest formula.

exactly how many versions of the white cap? Thought the white cap came out around 2007?

If it is honda mtf, i think u can't go wrong. I use latest honda mtf3 and it works fine.
about acura/honda mtf. I'm not sure, but I believe it is just same stuff but difference is just bottle.

So is there a clear consensus on which MTF to use? I need to change mine in the spring and after listening to the tech session at NSXPO last Sept realized the right fluid and changing it often is important.

USe GM SyncroMesh Friction Modified, I used it and my tranny feels like butter,, do a search on this kind there has been thread after thread on this Honda MTF sucks

The GM guys like the GTO owners have upgraded to Amsoil. You should too.
