Is this not the sleaziest thing to do?

What is the white spot on the right side of her scan?

The white spot is a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt. It "vents" the excess fluid from what is left of her brain and drains it into her abdominal cavity. If you could follow its path you would see it is a small silicone tube that travels from her brain, down her neck and into her abdominal cavity. If not present, the fluid would build up in her skull (not a very compliant cavity) and eventually cause the bottom of her brain to herniate (push through) the small hole at the base of her skull and cause her to die by compressing, and thus destroying, the part of her brain that controls her breathing.

The fact that her parents wanted to be with her when she died and he blocked them from that is enough of a reason for me.
I'm sure her parents meant well, but what kind of person would want to be kept alive under those circumstances? I think the parents are rather selfish personally, but I wouldn't rush to judge if I were you. I'm sure there are lots of things the public doesn't know about this private family matter.

I'm not sure if there is another thread on Prime currently on this subject or if anyone has seen her CT scans but here is one that has been floating around on the internet. On the left is normal and on the right is Terri. You dont have to be a doctor to see what's wrong.

Wow, I'd never seen that before. Thanks for posting it, Nik! Hope your studies are going well! :)

EDIT: Here is an explanation of the CT scan from a neurologist that examined Terri Schiavo.

There was a court order barring Michael and Terri's parents from being in the room at the same time. The only way he could have let them be there was to abandon the room himself.

I read that on the internet, so it must be true.
