Is this a rip??

Do some of you reeeealy believe that in a free market economy the seller is legaly or moraly obligated to educate potential buyers!!??Wow:eek:

I thought a "rip off" was when a person takes something from someone and doesn't pay for it or when someone steals like ripping off a shoulder bag from a woman. If something is fairly represented and the buyer knows what they are getting and for what price, pays and then gets exactly what they expected I don't think it is a rip off. This includes when the buyer finds out that they could have purchased it for much less or the the seller could have gotten much more. Products and services are sold at the highest price the market can bear and when the market can't bear the price they lease for $799 a month. :)

There is a gas station in my town that charges 25-30 cents more per gallon for gasoline than all the other stations in the area. I never see a lot of cars there but there is often at least one car filling up there.

Do their customers know that other stations are less expensive? I'm sure they do. Why do they gas up there? I don't know. Is that a rip-off and is it illegal? I don't think so. Different sellers charge different prices, and some buyers are knowingly willing to pay a higher price at times, for whatever reason they want.

We can agree to disagree. There are many instances where prices are regulated by whichever authority has juridiction over that ad hoc matter. If most believe that it is ok to ask for whatever price one (educated or not) is willing to pay, I on the other hand believe this is morally wrong on many counts.
Call me a dreamer, an ideologist even a naive if you want, but this is my belief and I stand by it.

Bravo!
Just don't tell whoever pays you for whatever you do, how you feel. :D
